A custom fit hearing device that includes an in-ear housing designed to fit at least partially in a hearing device user's ear canal. The in-ear housing includes one or more areas on its outer-surface that are designed to provide retention of the in-ear housing in the ear canal. The one of more area may be rougher than the rest of the outer-surface of the in-ear housing, may have greater a friction coefficient than the rest of the outer-surface of the in-ear housing, may be made of a different material than the rest of the outer-surface of the in-ear housing, may contain granular material and/or may include surface features such as shapes extending outward from the outer-surface or undulations/ripples in the outer-surface. The in-ear housing may be produced using virtual designs and a 3D scan of the ear canal and may be manufactured using additive manufacturing or 3D printing.

This invention relates to a device for insertion of a deep-in-the-canal hearing aid&#x2014;alternatively designatable as extended wear hearing aid&#x2014;into an ear canal of an individual user, at a pre-determined insertion depth (d) thereof. An antenna module for a hearing device includes a hollow core provided with an axial passageway and a winding around the core which is connectable with a hearing device. The antenna module is arranged to be at least partially contained within the ear canal of a user. This enables the antenna to be separated from sources of interference, since it can be positioned inside the ear canal away from hearing device electronics, thus reducing requirements for shielding and/or compensation. The present invention relates to an encapulated hearing device (), e.g. for long-term wear, in which an electronics module () is encapsulated into a thermoformed hull () by means of an appropriate adhesive (). This thermoformed hull () acts as an improved barrier between the electronics module () and the environment of the inner ear, reducing the risk of moisture reaching electrical components.

The present invention relates to an antenna module for a hearing device. A hearing system with an analogue control element including a selector for precise and reliable user selection of desired predefined settings. The selecting range of the analogue control element is partitioned into segments, each identified by an identification digit. At least two successive segments define a section. Each section represents a particular setting of the hearing system and is identified by a section digit. The hearing system stores the identification digit and the section digit in the non volatile memory according to the position of the selector. The stored identification digit and section digit are controlled by the signal processing unit and are only modified when the position of the selector is moved over at least two successive segments of the selecting range.

A hearing instrument comprises an openable cover lid, the cover lid comprising at least one electrical input element and at least one lid contact terminal arranged to physically and electrically contact at least one corresponding device contact terminal when the lid is in a closed position. The cover lid further comprises at least two electrical input, each of the at least two input elements being functionally associated with the impedance between the lid contact terminal and a further terminal, and the hearing instrument comprises means to infer the state of the input elements from said impedance. In a preferred embodiment, the number of input elements is equal to or larger than the number of lid contact terminals. In a further embodiment, the lid is the lid of a battery compartment of the hearing instrument, and in a closed position of the lid at least one of the input elements is in electrical contact with one of the terminals of a battery lying in the battery compartment.
