An over-speed safety device for a pneumatic rotation motor having a cylinder (), a forward end wall (), a rear end wall () with a pressure air inlet opening (), a rotor (), and an actuator () co-rotative with the rotor () and responsive to centrifugal action, and a valve lid () tiltable relative to a pivot axis (C) and shiftable between an open position and a closed position for controlling the airflow though the inlet opening (), wherein the pivot axis (C) extends along a chord in relation to the rotor centre, and the actuator () comprises a cam surface () for camming engagement with the valve lid () for moving the latter in a radial direction toward the closed position. The valve lid () is supported by ridge positions () on a seat surface () disposed around the inlet opening (), and a wire spring () is arranged to retain and bias the valve lid () against the seat surface (). The ridge portions () are arranged to make the valve lid () perform an over-centre movement when shifted from open to closed position, thereby obtaining a bi-stable action of the valve lid () under action of the wire spring ().

Overspeed safety device for a rotation motor

A throttle valve device for a pneumatic power tool comprises a casing () with an air inlet passage (), an air outlet passage (), a valve chamber () with a main valve seat () and a main valve element (), and a manually shiftable activating rod () which is sealingly guided in a lateral guide way () and arranged to engage and displace the main valve element () off the main seat (), wherein the activating rod () has a valve portion () for co-operation with a secondary valve seat () in the guide way () for controlling a bypass passage () extending between the inlet passage () and the outlet passage () such that the activation rod valve portion () is separated from the secondary valve seat () and opens up the bypass passage () before the activation rod () engages and displaces the main valve element () off the main seat () when operating the activation rod () in the opening direction.

Throttle valve device for a pneumatic power tool

A pneumatic power tool comprises a housing () with a motor and a pressure air inlet passage () and an exhaust air outlet passage () both extending through the housing () and communicating with the motor, wherein the outlet passage () is provided with sound attenuating elements () formed in a highly porous resinous material and arranged to be penetrated by the exhaust flow for exhaust noise reduction, and an exhaust flow diverting deflector () mounted at the outlet end of the outlet passage () and comprising a shell like body () with a cylindrical neck portion () rotatively received in the outlet passage (), a concave flow guiding surface (), and two parallel inner walls () forming between them a main flow passage () and between them and the shell body () two narrow secondary flow passages () for accomplishing noise dampening low velocity air flow shields on both sides of the main flow.

An overspeed safety device for a pneumatic rotation motor having a stator () with an air inlet passage (), a rotor (), and a speed governor for determining a maximum speed level, and comprising a speed responsive actuator () connected to the rotor () and a valve () shiftable by the actuator () from a normally open position to a closed position so as to block or substantially restrict the air flow through the inlet passage () at the attainment of motor speed levels exceeding a predetermined maximum level should the speed governor malfunction, wherein the actuator () comprises a spring biassed contact element () connected to the rotor () and responsive to centrifugal action, and the valve () comprises a disc-shaped valve element () pivotally supported in the inlet passage () and maintained in its open position by one magnet () and in its closed position by another magnet ().

A portable power tool including a housing (10) intended for manual support of the tool and formed with an inner surface (29), and a motor (11) supported in the housing (10) and having a stator (22) surrounded by the inner surface (29) of the housing (10) leaving a space (30) wherein at least one heat screening shell (32;52) is provided to retard heat transfer between the motor (11) and the housing (10). Each heat screening shell (32;52) is preferably a thin sheet metal element which in itself has no heat insulating properties.
