A concrete/steel structure disassembling apparatus which comprises a triangular or T-shaped housing, and a suspension member is pivotably coupled to the triangular or T-shaped housing, and the suspension facilitates suspension of the triangular or T-shaped housing from a crane. At least a concrete/steel pulverizer apparatus is pivotably supported by the triangular or T-shaped housing, and the concrete/steel pulverizer apparatus comprises a pair of concrete/steel pulverizer arms for engaging with a desired section of a concrete/steel structure and pulverizing the same. The concrete/steel structure disassembling apparatus incorporates its own completely independent power module for supplying hydraulic power to the concrete/steel pulverizer apparatus and controlling operation of the at least one pair of concrete/steel pulverizer arms, and the power module is supported by the triangular or T-shaped housing.

Self-powered concrete/steel structure disassembling apparatus

A grappler assembly having an assembly framework and a grappler device that is supported by the assembly framework. The grappler device has at least one pair of grappler arms that engages with a desired section of a tree to be removed. The grappler assembly incorporating its own independent power module for supplying hydraulic power to the grappler device and controlling operation of the at least one pair of grappler arms, and the power module is mounted solely to the assembly framework.

Self-powered grappler assembly

A combustion/pyrolization system for generating at least one of char and biochar comprising an upper base frame supporting a combustion/pyrolization housing, and the combustion/pyrolization housing having both an open top end and an open bottom end. A char collection bin defining a collection chamber therein and a perforated grate normally covering the open top end of the char collection bin. The perforated grate being sized so as to permit desired sized char and/or biochar to pass therethrough into the collection chamber. The open bottom end of the combustion/pyrolization housing of the upper base frame is movable into an engaged position where the combustion/pyrolization housing partially receives and surrounds the perforated grate and defines a combustion/pyrolization chamber for receiving and consuming feed material. The upper base frame is movable out of engagement with the perforated grate to facilitate movement of the perforated grate and removal of the generated char and/or biochar.

Two component char and biochar combustion/pyrolization system

A chain flail debarking apparatus including a flail chamber accommodating at least first and second rotatable flail shafts being supported on a movable flail assembly framework, and both of the first and second rotatable flail shafts having a plurality of chains, a disc chipper for receiving the debarked logs and trees from the flail chamber and generating wood chips having a desired shape and size, and a single drive for driving both the disc chipper and at least the first and second rotatable flail shafts in the flail chamber. A pivotable feed roller is located adjacent an inlet to the flail chamber for sensing a diameter of the logs and trees to be debarked and moving the movable flail assembly framework, relative to the base frame, so as to maintain the logs and trees being debarked in the flail chamber, substantially centered with respect to both the first and second rotatable flail shafts so that both upwardly and downwardly facing surfaces of the logs and trees being debarked are substantially equally treated.

Chain flail debarking apparatus with moveable flail assembly

A portable grinding/shredding/chipping system with a drive track assembly which is manipulatable to facilitate altering the orientation of the portable grinding/shredding/chipping system. This arrangement results in improved loading and processing, of both long and short materials, as well as facilitates connection of a transport dolly and a transport truck/tractor without requiring any additional lifting mechanism. A pivotable housing provides greater access to the rotor and has an over-center arrangement which prevents the pivotable housing from inadvertently moving or pivoting back into engagement with the rotor. The portable grinding/shredding/chipping system is provided with a belt drive assembly which facilitates modification of the rotational speed of the rotor by merely replacing a sheave of the belt drive assembly. Lastly, both head and tail pulleys are driven by a respective motor so that a catinary of the discharge conveyor is radiussed which shortens an axial length of the system.

Portable grinding/shredding/chipping system having manipulable track drive and other improvements

A combustion/pyrolization system comprising a combustion/pyrolization chamber supported by the base frame, and a perforated grate forms a bottom surface of the combustion/pyrolization chamber and facilitates passage of char and boichar therethrough. The combustion/pyrolization chamber is open along at a top and an air manifold supplies a first source of combustion air across the top of the combustion/pyrolization chamber to form an air curtain. A char collection/transfer chamber is located below the perforated grate for collecting at least the char and boichar that passes therethrough, and a conveying mechanism transfers the char and boichar out of the combustion/pyrolization system for collection and use. An air plenum chamber cools the char collection/transfer chamber such that the supplied secondary air becomes heated, and the heated secondary air flows into the char collection/transfer chamber and through the perforated grate into the combustion/pyrolization chamber to provide secondary combustion air.

Portable combustion/pyrolization system with first and second air sources

A combustion/carbonizing system which comprises a base frame and a combustion chamber frame which is pivotably attached to the base frame. The combustion chamber frame defines an open top combustion chamber having a bottom perforated plate. A plenum is formed below the perforated plate for collecting biochar which passes therethrough. A first source of combustion air is supplied across the top of the combustion chamber while a second source of combustion air passes through the perforated plate into the combustion chamber. The combustion/carbonizing system is capable of operating in a continuous manner for combustion wood or waste material to the desired degree required by the end user for the purpose of reducing the volume of the material as well as the associated emissions while generating valuable char and boichar as an end product. For some applications, the combustion/carbonizing system may be operated to combust completely the wood or waste material.

Portable combustion system with first and second air sources

A chip discharge chute having a flexible chute main section having an upstream end connectable from a chipping machine output, a main section elevation mechanism connected to the downstream end of the chute main section for controlling a height of the downstream end of the flexible main section with respect to a chip receiving area, and a chute deflector section pivotably connected to the downstream end of the flexible main section for receiving chips from the downstream end of the chute main section and a downstream end with a downwardly directed ejection opening for discharging chips into the chip receiving area. The chute deflector section is rotated out of alignment with the chute main section so that the chip discharge path includes only the chute main section when the chips are to be discharged along the horizontal trajectory and is rotated into alignment with the chute main section so that the chip discharge path includes both the chute main section and the chute deflector section when the chips are to be discharged along the generally vertically downward trajectory.

Flexible chipper chute having two chip discharge configurations

A material reducing apparatus comprising a feed conveyor, for conveying material to be reduced, and a feed roller cooperating with the feed conveyor. An upwardly rotatable rotor carrying a plurality of strikers which facilitate reduction of the material to be reduced and an anvil cooperating with the plurality of strikers to facilitate further reduction of the material to be reduced. A grate assembly, located adjacent an arcuate path of the rotor, which permits sufficiently reduced material to pass therethrough. The material reducing apparatus further includes a failsafe system which comprising an accelerometer supported by the rotor and coupled to a control system such that the accelerometer, upon detection of the rotor contacting a hard material, sends a signal to the control system. If the signal indicates a sufficiently large material, the control system reverses a rotational direction of the feed roller so that the feed roll rotates to withdraw the hard material from contact with the rotor. A section of the grate assembly may also be moved away from the rotor, by a release device, upon the release device receiving a command from the control system.

A comminuting striker assembly for mounting on a rotor of a comminuting apparatus comprising: a striker having first and second opposed faces, the first face defining at least one cutting edge, and a striker retainer, the striker and striker retainer defining cooperating primary support surfaces and cooperating alignment components.

Arrangement facilitating single fastener attachment for strikers of a wood comminuting rotor

A material drying apparatus for substantially eliminating the liquid content of a sludge, the apparatus including a first stage operating at ambient pressure for heating the sludge; a second stage operating with partial vacuum for receiving heated sludge from the first stage for further heating and for drying the sludge by evaporation of substantially all liquid therefrom leaving a dry particulate material; and an evacuated cyclonic stage for applying sufficient centrifugal force to the dry particulate material to render this material odorless.

A comminuting striker assembly for mounting on a rotor of a comminuting apparatus comprising: a striker having first and second opposed faces, the first face defining at least one cutting edge, and the second face defining a pair of perpendicular slots; a striker retainer having a leading face for attachment to the striker, the leading face defining a pair of perpendicular keys to be received by the slots; and a single threaded fastener for joining the striker to the striker retainer.

A comminuting striker assembly for mounting on a rotor of a comminuting apparatus comprising: a striker having first and second opposed faces, the first face defining at least one cutting edge, and the second face defining a pair of perpendicular slots; a striker retainer having a leading face for attachment to the striker, the leading face defining a pair of perpendicular keys to engage the slots; and a single threaded fastener for joining the striker to the striker retainer, whereby the slots of the striker mate closely with the keys of the striker retainer.

A comminuting striker and retainer for mounting to a striker mounting face of a comminuting rotor by bolts in which the striker is located by a projection on the retainer which can be disengaged from the striker by loosening the bolts without removing the bolts and retainer from the rotor, the striker having a slot which then allows the striker to be slid laterally from the bolts for removal from the rotor.

Attachment arrangement facilitating rapid replacement of strikers of a wood comminuting rotor

A comminutor for reducing large diameter wood products and stumps to size, comprised of a reduction chamber, with an impact rotor positioned concentrically therein, in combination with a housing, drive motor and infeed chute. The impact rotor is formed with a plurality of horizontally elongated impact hammers at its periphery. The impact hammers are arranged in sets of impact hammer rows oriented at an angle to the rotational axis of the impact rotor. Each set of impact hammers has one row of hammers having radial angles increasing along the rotor's longitudinal axis in the axial direction of the rotor and a second opposing row of hammers having radial angles decreasing along the rotor's longitudinal axis in the axial direction of the rotor. The rotor is positioned so that the elongated wood product or stump falling under the influence of gravity through the infeed chute is directed against the impact hammers, and repelled ahead of the rotor's rotational direction against an anvil formed along one side of the reduction chamber.
