The present disclosure relates generally to a microphone assembly. The microphone assembly has an acoustic activity detection mode of operation when the electrical circuit is clocked using an internal clock signal generator in the absence of an external clock signal at a host interface, and an electrical circuit of the microphone assembly is configured to provide an interrupt signal to the host interface upon detection of acoustic activity by the electrical circuit. The electrical circuit is configured to control the operating mode of the microphone assembly based on a frequency of the external clock signal in response to providing the interrupt signal and is configured to provide data representing the electrical signal to the host interface using the external clock signal received at the host interface.

Acoustic activity detecting microphone

An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) is used with an acoustic device. An input clock signal is received. The frequency of the input clock signal is determined, and the frequency is indicative of one of a plurality of operational modes of the ASIC. Based upon the determined frequency, an amount current provided to one or more operational blocks of the ASIC is changed.

Apparatus and method for frequency detection

A driver, includes a driver block, a controller block, and a comparison block. The driver block includes an adjustable current source configured to produce a digital output stream. The controller block is coupled to the driver block. The comparison block is coupled to the driver block and the controller block. The comparison block is configured to compare the digital output stream to a reference value at a time delayed with respect to a master clock and based upon the comparison cause the controller block to adjust a strength of the driver block.

Slew rate control apparatus for digital microphones

A microphone includes a base, a micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) device disposed on the base, and a front end processing apparatus disposed on the base and coupled to the MEMS device, the front end processing apparatus being configured to convert analog signals received from the MEMS device into digital signals. The microphone also includes a DSP apparatus, the DSP apparatus being a digital programmed device with a computer memory, the DSP apparatus configured to process the digital signals received from the front end processing apparatus. The MEMS device, the front end processing apparatus, and DSP apparatus are enclosed within a single microphone enclosure or assembly. During operation the DSP apparatus generates DSP noise. The DSP apparatus includes a noise reduction structure that substantially prevents the DSP noise from reaching or interfering with the operation of the MEMS device or the front end processing apparatus.

Signal processing platform in an acoustic capture device

The invention relates to an integrated driver circuit suitable for driving a light emitter with a signal current I(time) based on a received signal said circuit comprising a differential pair of transistors having a first transistor and a second transistor each respectively forming part of a first branch and a second branch, said first branch comprises a node suitable for connecting to said light emitter and/or said first branch comprises said light emitter, wherein said second branch comprise at least one charge storage device. This charge storage device may be arranged to collect current otherwise wasted in the process of driving the light emitter. This current may be utilized to drive circuitry thereby reduce current consumption.
