A powertrain assembly including a powertrain unit with a drive shaft, at least a first mount and at least a first coupling arm, arranged to direct the drive shaft substantially perpendicular to a driving direction of the vehicle. The first mount is arranged substantially perpendicular to the drive shaft. The first coupling arm is arranged between a first end side of the powertrain unit and the first mount and is connected to the powertrain unit by at least a first fixing element to hold the powertrain unit in an initial position. The first coupling arm is configured to clash into the first mount in case of a vehicle collision. The first fixing element is configured to be sheared off from the first coupling arm to at least partially disconnect the powertrain unit from the first coupling arms after the clash of the first coupling arm into the first mount.

Powertrain assembly for a vehicle

A siderail member for a subframe assembly of a vehicle, including: an elongate body, wherein the elongate body includes a hollow extruded structure including an inboard wall, an outboard wall, a top wall, a bottom wall, and one or more internal walls. Optionally, the bottom wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the top wall. Optionally, the outboard wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the inboard wall. Optionally, the one or more internal walls include a top internal wall and a bottom internal wall forming a plurality of horizontally-disposed cells within an interior of the elongate body. The bottom internal wall has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the top internal wall. The hollow extruded structure is manufactured from an aluminum material. Optionally, the top wall of the hollow extruded structure defines a flexure recess.

A simulation method related with the opening force of a front vehicle door after a vehicle frontal collision including: a first simulation step in which deformations of vehicle components which are caused in the vehicle frontal collision to affect the opening of the front door are calculated by simulation; and a second simulation step in which the opening force of the front door after the vehicle frontal collision is predicted by simulation; wherein the components which affect the opening of the front door include a design component and an interface component, the deformations of the design component and the interface component obtained in the first simulation step being used as initial geometric conditions of the design component and the interface component in the second simulation step.

Simulation method related with post-collision opening force of front vehicle door

An arrangement for the suspension of a motor vehicle wheel having a wheel-bearing housing for bearing the wheel, a lower link arm for connecting the bodywork of the motor vehicle and a lower part of the wheel-bearing housing, and an upper link arm for connecting the bodywork and an upper part of the wheel-bearing housing. The arrangement further includes an additional connection between the bodywork and the wheel-bearing housing and a coupling link that is substantially rigid in the vertical direction for connecting the additional connection and lower link arm. The improved arrangement is especially suitable for a rear wheel suspension in a motor vehicle, thereby permitting a high degree of longitudinal softness and high windup strength.
