A system and method is for determining a concentration of at least one gas in a container having at least one side with a flexible area. The system includes a measuring area arranged for receiving the container; a suction device arranged for pulling at least one portion of the flexible area a distance to arranging at least the portion of the flexible area in a position to provide a space underneath at least the portion of the flexible area; an optical sensor, configured to be sensitive to the at least one gas, is arranged in relation to the measuring area for transmitting a light signal through the space and detecting a transmitted light signal; and a controller configured for determining, based on the transmitted light signal, the concentration of the at least one gas in the container.

The disclosure relates to system and method for determining at least one property of a porous medium and includes performing a first measurement on a sample of the porous medium obtaining an optical path through pores of the porous medium using a first sensor applied utilizing a first optical technology; performing a second measurement on the sample of the porous medium obtaining a total optical path through the porous medium using a second sensor utilizing a second optical technology different from the first optical technology; and calculating an optical porosity of the porous medium based on the optical path through the pores and the total optical path through the porous medium.
