The disclosure relates generally to devices, systems and methods for measuring, transmitting, recording and displaying information relating to physical exercise and, more particularly, to a monitoring system for monitoring exercise machines comprising a lifting mechanism for selectively engaging one or more of the weights. A first aspect of the disclosure relates to an exercise machine monitoring system for monitoring exercise machines, where the exercise machines, comprise a plurality of stacked weights, the monitoring system comprises, for each of the exercise machines a repetition detector and an exercise machine identifier. The monitoring system further comprises an observer and a user device.

Exercise machine monitoring system for monitoring one or more exercise machines

A monitoring device performs a method of detecting a need for maintenance of an exercise machine comprising a time-of-flight, ToF, sensor. The method comprises obtaining a measurement signal from the ToF sensor at a predefined operating condition of the exercise machine. Based on the measurement signal, the method determines a measured distance between the ToF sensor and a reflective element in the exercise machine. The measured distance has been found to be responsive to accumulation of deposits on the ToF sensor and is thus evaluated by the method to detect a need for cleaning. The method thereby enables preventive maintenance.

Predictive maintenance of exercise machines with time-of-flight sensors

A housing for a Time-of-Flight (ToF) range meter includes a wall structure defining a first optical beam path to an emitter of the ToF range meter, and a second optical beam path to a detector of the ToF range meter, and a transmissive optical diffusor configured to cover the beam path to at least one of said emitter and said detector. The housing may be connected to a ToF range meter into a ToF ranging device. Such a ToF ranging device where the ToF ranging device is directed to measure a distance to a reflector member to determine a distance which correlates to the weight of the selectively engaged weights.

The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for increasing the power efficiency of a display. An exemplary system includes a transflective display that is operable in either a transmissive mode or a reflective mode, and an illumination source with one or more distinct peaks in the illumination source's transmission spectrum, wherein light from the illumination source is directed towards the transflective display during the transmissive mode of operation. The response time for changes in the concentration of the specific substance is reduced while the measurement signal's signal-to-noise ratio is simultaneously improved when the pulsation frequency is from 50 to 1000 Hz, and the direct current component in the measurement signal is filtered out for normalization by a reference signal in a signal analyzer so the concentration of the specific substance can be calculated.
