The invention relates to a tissue paper making machine designed for possible rebuild from one concept to another. The machine comprises a forming section () and a Yankee drying cylinder () mounted to be rotatable about a first axis of rotation (A). The forming section has a forming roll mounted for rotation about a second axis of rotation (A) which is parallel to the first axis of rotation (A). The forming section () has a head box () and a first and a second forming fabric (). The head box () is arranged to inject stock into a gap () between the first forming fabric () and the second forming fabric (). The first forming fabric () is a felt that forms a loop and is arranged to carry a newly formed fibrous web (W) from the forming section () to the Yankee drying cylinder (). The tissue paper making machine () comprises a press roll () arranged inside the loop of the first forming fabric () and forming a nip (N) against the Yankee drying cylinder (). The distance (X) in the horizontal direction between the first axis of rotation (A) and the second axis of rotation (A) is in the range of 18 m-40 m.

The invention relates to a drying section and comprises one or more through air drying cylindersand a permeable fabricthat runs in a loop and wraps part of the circumference of each through air drying cylinder. The loop of the fabricis divided in a web-carrying partand a conditioning part. The web-carrying part extends from a receiving pointto a transfer pointwhere a fibrous web is transferred to a further component. The conditioning part extends from the transfer pointto the receiving point. The conditioning part has a cleaning sectioncomprising a showerto wash residue from the fabric. A dewatering sectionis arranged to act on the fabricafter the cleaning section and comprises one or several suction dewatering devices. An applicator sectionis arranged in the conditioning partafter the dewatering section. The applicator section comprises an applicatorfor applying release agent on the fabric. The dewatering sectionof the fabric loop comprises a substantially vertical run VR of the fabric which does not deviate more than 30&#xb0; from a vertical plane and a suction dewatering deviceis placed along the vertical run of the fabricon the web-contacting side of the fabric. The dewatering section either comprises a further suction dewatering device placed along the vertical run of the fabric on the side of the fabricthat is opposite the web-contacting side or it has room for installing a further suction dewatering device of the same size as the suction dewatering devicethat is located on the web-contacting side of the fabric.

Drying section of a papermaking machine comprising one or more through air drying cylinders

A device for protecting a spraying equipment and surroundings in a paper or board machine, for applying a treatment medium onto a moving surface, comprises a protecting cover forming a single chamber having the spraying equipment located therein and which is open towards the moving surface in connection with an application zone. Two wall elements of the protecting cover extend in the cross-machine direction on either side of the application zone, and define machine-wide gaps with the moving surface. The protecting cover includes a sealing arrangement arranged in connection with the gaps to control and restrict passage of air and contaminants through the gaps; a system for a controlled supply of capture air for capturing contaminants within the space; and an evacuating system for a controlled, continuous evacuation of the capture air with contaminants from the chamber. An associated method of using such a device is also provided.

Paper machine for manufacturing a fiber web of paper without through air drying (TAD) or pressing, comprising: a wet end, having a wire section with at least one forming wire, a clothing, being air and water permeable, and a dewatering unit for dewatering the fiber web; and a drying section, comprising a drying surface for the fiber web; and also a transfer roll for transferring the fiber web to the drying section, wherein the fiber web is supported by said clothing from the wire section all the way to and over the transfer roll. The clothing has a three dimensional structure for structuring the fiber web.

A reel shaft for reeling a paper web in a reel-up, which reel-up includes at least one unit that is mobile in the longitudinal direction of the paper machine and supports a pair of opposite engagement members each of which includes an engagement part, which engagement parts are arranged for rotatably carrying and detachably engaging the reel shaft during reeling. In accordance with the invention, the reel shaft is free of a support shaft and has a self-supporting, tubular sleeve substantially formed of fiber-reinforced plastic, which sleeve has an envelope surface on which the initial wrapping of the paper web shall be performed, and also an internal surface defining an axial channel terminating in axial openings at the ends of the reel shaft. The invention also relates to a reel-up for such reel shafts.

Reel shaft and reel-up for reeling a paper web

A dry end of a tissue machine is made shorter by close-coupling a reel-up to the drying section and supporting the web from the drying section to the reel-up by a foil or a belt such that web stability is maintained, thus allowing high-speed operation. The foil's downstream edge can form a nip with the paper roll and nip load can be controlled by controlling pivotal movement of the foil. The reel-up can include a calendering belt for calendering the web as it passes through a nip between the belt and a reel drum supported on the belt, and a rotatable reel spool on which a paper roll is wound in nipping engagement with the reel drum. Alternatively, the reel drum can be eliminated and the paper roll can be supported on the belt. A composite shaftless core for winding is also disclosed.
