The present invention relates to a method () for compensating output efficiency of a plurality of amplifiers arranged to operate with an antenna array, where the antennas in the antenna array are electromagnetically coupled to each other, for providing a desired functionality of the antenna array, the method () comprising the steps of obtaining () input signal characteristics for each amplifier; determining () suitable compensating control parameters for each amplifier based on at least one of the input signal characteristics of each antenna and pre-determined coupling factors between antennas; outputting () efficiency control signals for adjusting at least one amplifier control parameter relating to output efficiency of each antenna.

Method and device for controlling the output efficiency of a plurality of amplifiers

An antenna arrangement () comprising an antenna array is disclosed. The antenna array comprises N antenna elements () (N being an integer ≥3). Moreover, each antenna element is connected to an electronics module () out of P electronics modules, P being an integer such that 3≤P≤N, where each electronics module is configured to generate an output signal indicative of a signal received by a corresponding one or more antenna elements. The antenna arrangement further comprises control circuitry () connected to the antenna array. The control circuitry is configured to receive each output signal, compute a sum of cross-correlations between each output signal and a set of other output signals originating from other corresponding antenna elements, and determine at least one angle of a direction of arrival of the electromagnetic waves relative to the antenna array based on the computed sum.

Antenna assembly with shielding structure

A low-radar cross section antenna structure for an active electrically scanned antenna including an active electrically scanned antenna enclosure and at least two antenna elements. The antenna elements are arranged to be mounted on a front surface of the active electrically scanned antenna enclosure and embedded in a lightweight structure. The front surface and side surfaces of the active electrically scanned antenna enclosure and the antenna elements are arranged to be covered with the lightweight structure. A thin laminate is arranged to cover an outer top surface and an outer side surface of the lightweight structure. Parts of the lightweight structure are arranged to be doped with a lossy material having dielectric, magnetic and/or resistive losses, thus making these parts of the lightweight structure absorbing for electromagnetic radiation.

Method and arrangement for a low radar cross section antenna

An antenna system for an airborne radar system with a dorsal unit having two opposing long sides extending in a height direction (Z) and a longitudinal direction (X), and two opposing short sides extending in a lateral direction (Y) and the height direction (Z), and an upper side opposing a bottom side each extending in the longitudinal direction (X) and the lateral direction (Y). The antenna system comprises antenna devices being interspaced and mounted in connection to one of the short sides or both the short sides and extending in the height direction (Z). Each of the antenna devices comprises a waveguide board.

Fore/aft looking airborne radar

The invention provides an improved array antenna, an array antenna system and an improved method for utilizing the improved array antenna and array antenna system. This is accomplished by an array antenna comprising a region of reference potential, e.g. a ground plane, and a spatially extended collection of at least two antenna elements capable of being at least partly balanced driven and at least partly unbalanced driven. The antenna elements have a first radiating element connected to a first port and a second radiating element connected to a second port. In other words, the antenna element has at least two ports. The radiating elements are arranged substantially adjacent and parallel to each other so as to extend at least a first distance approximately perpendicularly from said region of reference potential. The antenna element is further comprising a radiating arrangement connected to said first and said second radiating elements so as to extend at least a second distance above and approximately parallel to said region of ground reference.

Array antenna with enhanced scanning

An antenna structure integrated in a hull or fuselage. The hull or fuselage can be the outer surface of an aircraft, artillery shell, missile or ship. The antenna structure includes an array antenna. The array antenna includes a number of antenna elements. Each antenna element includes a radiator and an RF feed. The antenna elements are arranged in a lattice within an antenna area including a central antenna area and a transition region outside the central antenna area wherein a number of the antenna radiators as well as resistive sheets are arranged in substantially the same plane as a surrounding outer surface of the hull or fuselage.

Hull or fuselage integrated antenna

A self-complementary patch antenna is disclosed. A hexagonal lattice () consisting of triangular conducting patches () is formed together with at least one dielectric layer onto a ground-plane. Each triangular patch is then fed by means of three RF signal probes in a symmetrical configuration positioned near each corner of the triangle, whereby an arbitrary lobe-steering and polarization state can be established by selection of amplitude and phase for each RF signal probe.

Patch antenna

A dual polarized wave-guide notch antenna array is disclosed. The device comprises a feed section having at least two input transmission lines, a feed/wave-guide interface providing an aperture for transferring a radio frequency electromagnetic wave between the feed section and a wave-guide mode in a wave-guide section having ridges. The wave-guide section transfers energy between the feed/wave-guide interface and a tapered notch section, thereby gradually adjusting a created electromagnetic field towards free space conditions.

Said transmit and receive stations are arranged to function within the frequency range of 10-100 MHz.

Multi purpose radar surveillance system

The present invention relates to a broadband non-resonant antenna device for wireless transmission of information using electromagnetic signals, comprising a metal sheet layer, forming a plane, with a slotline that comprises a first part and a second part. The side of the second part that is the most distant from the first part transcends into a widening open-ended tapered slot in the metal sheet layer. The device additionally comprises a feeding line in the metal sheet layer. The feeding line comprises a feeding part, with a first end and a second end, and gaps separating the feeding part from the surrounding metal sheet layer by a certain distance, where the slotline is intersected by the feeding line.
