A power supply apparatus for providing electrical power to a power consuming device or a power conversion device from at least one of a first AC power source and a second AC power source. The power supply apparatus comprises controllable rectifier devices associated with each of the first and second AC power sources. The controllable rectifier devices are controllable to simultaneously rectify and control the power provided by the first and second AC power sources.

Power supply apparatus with controllable multiple input rectification

Channel estimation with reduced overhead in a filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) system is enabled by use of frequency-time blocks each comprising a pilot field with two pilot symbols and data symbols outside the pilot field. In embodiments, nearest neighbors of the pilot field are populated with data symbols which fulfill one or more symmetry relations enabling approximate interference cancellation. In a first embodiment, the pilot field consists of two frequency-consecutive and time-coinciding positions; the pilot field may be time-initial in a transmission or may be located in the interior of the transmission. In a second embodiment, a block comprises two frequency-coinciding and time-consecutive pilot symbols; the pilot field may be frequency-initial in a transmission or may be located in the interior of the transmission.

Channel estimation for FBMC modulation

Joint uplink transmission power and bit rate control is provided. Data bits are received by a network Node B on an enhanced dedicated channel, E-DCH, from a user equipment, UE. End-user quality of service, QoS, for the received data bits is estimated. System coverage at a radio receiver of the network Node B is estimated. The estimated end-user QoS and the estimated system coverage represent a current working point of the UE. The current working point of the UE is related to a preferred working point. As a result thereof a transmission power control, TPC, command and a scheduling grant, SG, is determined for the UE so as to move the current working point towards the preferred working point and thereby adjust uplink transmission power and bit rate.

Uplink transmission power and bit rate control

The embodiments herein relate to a method in a base station for adjusting transmission power in a communications network. The base station determines a first number m; P of historical transmit power control, TPC, commands based on a signal power and an interference level. The base station determines a second number 2k; n+Q of current TPC commands based on the first number m; P of historical TPC commands, or based on the first number m; P of historical TPC commands and a third number n&#x2212;K of signal power and interference level pairs. The base station transmits a sequence of TPC commands comprising the first number of historical TPC commands and the second number of current TPC commands to the user equipment to adjust the user equipment's transmission power.

Method and device for transmission power control

The present invention relates to a switched mode power supply with programmable digital control and to a power supply system comprising a plurality of switched mode power supplies. The input terminals and the output terminals of the switched mode power supply system are separated by an insulation barrier, and the switched mode power supply comprises a conversion stage having at least one switching element. The switching element of the conversion stage, as well as any switching elements of a possible pre-regulator, is digitally controlled by a programmable digital circuit. In one embodiment of the switched mode power supply, the programmable digital circuit is located on the primary side of the insulation barrier.
