A modular drive assembly may include an electric motor, a housing at least partially enclosing the motor, an electronic connection assembly configured to electrically couple the electric motor to a host device, and an accessory attachment assembly configured to mechanically couple the modular drive assembly to an accessory to operate a working assembly of the accessory using only electrical power provided from the host device. The accessory attachment assembly may be configured to be releasably attached to the accessory and at least one other accessory of a different type than the accessory.

Electrically powered, universal accessory drive

A feeder movement compensation algorithm for use within a processor controlled sewing machine. The sewing machine configured with a reciprocating needle and thread, and including a stitch plate upon which fabric to be sewn is positioned beneath the needle and thread. The machine also includes a feeder mechanism driving a feed dog thru a movement. The feed dog movement pushes the fabric along the stitch plate and the reciprocating needle and thread form stitches in the fabric. During the stitch cycle, the feed dog movement completes at least one feeder stroke. The feeder stroke includes a portion of the feed dog extending above the stitch plate and moving along the direction of feed. The feeder stroke thus pushes the fabric along the stitch plate. The compensation algorithm calculates a theoretical feeder stroke length based upon a desired stitch. The compensation algorithm then calculates a modified feeder stroke length using the theoretical feeder stroke length and at least one feeder calibration data element. The modified feeder stroke length is then performed by the feed dog during the stitch cycle to form the stitch.

Feeder movement compensation

A sewing machine () has access to a memory (M) for stitch data and a processor (C) for reading said stitch data and for operating the sewing machine () to execute stitches according to stitch data, wherein the sewing machine () has a hoop () for framing a pattern of the sewing material (), and for moving the framed pattern in a direction comprising a component of at least one of a first coordinate (x) and a second coordinate (y) and wherein further the processor (C) controls movements of the hoop () according to said direction in relation to the position of a needle () of the sewing machine and synchronously with the movement of the needle for executing stitches, wherein: &#x2014;the stretched sewing material () is clamped to the hoop () for forming a framed pattern in the hoop, &#x2014;the framed pattern of the sewing material () is scanned by means of a camera () mounted in the sewing machine () and directed towards the sewing material () for the purpose of taking pictures of part views of said framed pattern, &#x2014;said part views are tiled together for forming on a display an image of the pattern framed in the hoop, whereby a coordinate of the image of a display () refers to a corresponding coordinate of the pattern framed in the hoop ().
