A method, system and apparatus for group management for vehicle-to-anything (V2X) and Proximity Based Services (ProSe) groupcast. According to one aspect, a method in a wireless device (WD) includes discovering wireless devices (WDs) that are members of a group, and sending to the WDs that are members of the group a group discovery complete message. According to another aspect, a method in a WD includes listening for a group discovery signal indicating a group to which the WD belongs or seeks to join, and sending a group discovery response indicating that the WD seeks to join or remain in the indicated group.

Group management for V2X groupcast

A method by a virtual network device in a virtualized network to support shared caching in the virtualized network. The method includes receiving a request message for content, determining whether the content is available in a shared virtual cache, wherein the shared virtual cache is shared by a plurality of virtual network devices in the virtualized network, obtaining the content from an upstream network device in response to a determination that the content is not available in the shared virtual cache, storing the content in the shared virtual cache to make the content available to the plurality of virtual network devices, and sending a response message containing the content towards an originator of the request message for the content.

Shared caching in a virtualized network

A method performed by a first node in a communication network, the first node being a first end-point of signaling with a second node in the communication network, the second node being a second end-point in the signaling. The method comprises receiving signals from the second node, the received signals comprising instructions for the first node to perform a plurality of actions as well as an indication for in which order the actions should be performed. The method also comprises performing the actions in order. The method also comprises sending signals to the second node, the sent signals comprising an acknowledgement that the plurality of actions have been performed.

Methods and devices for signalling in a communication network

A method of a communication device of requesting data of a destination network node via at least one intermediate node in a service chain. The method comprises acquiring a secret session key configured to subsequently verify authenticity of the requested data and first seed data to be used by the at least one intermediate node and the destination node to generate the session key, transmitting the data request, an indication of the service chain to be traversed, and the first seed data to a next-hop node in the service chain, receiving, in response to the forwarded data request, the requested data having been provided with an indication of authenticity by the next-hop node, and verifying the authenticity of the received data using the acquired session key, wherein the received requested data is considered authenticated.

Secure next-hop communication

A method, in a network node, for managing a user equipment device is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of receiving at least one of an apply instruction or a withhold instruction concerning an energy saving process for the user equipment device (step), applying the energy saving process for the user equipment device if the instruction is an apply instruction (step) and withholding application of the energy saving process for the user equipment device if the instruction is a withhold instruction (step). The energy saving process comprises retaining a context for the user equipment device after conducting a network detach procedure with the user equipment device (step). Method for managing a user equipment device

A method in a node of a communication system for selecting a message box for a machine device. The communication system comprises one or more capillary networks and a wireless network, the one or more capillary networks comprising one or more machine devices and at least two capillary network gateways. The at least two capillary network gateways are capable of data exchange between the machine device and the wireless network. The method comprises establishing, for the machine device, a first probability reflecting the probability that the machine device changes capillary network gateway between two consecutive data transmission events performed by the machine device, and selecting, based on the first probability, a message box for use by the machine device. Method and node for selecting a message box

A node () in an information centric network (ICN) receives a first identifier associated with an information object. The node () causes creation of a virtual node () in the ICN, for holding a mapping between a second identifier and the first identifier. The second identifier is assigned to a copy of the information object stored in the ICN. The node () causes creation of the virtual node () such that the mapping is arranged to cease after a predetermined event. The virtual node () is created with the sole purpose of providing copies of the information object to a small number of requestors (), and possibly to just one requestor (). Ceasing the mapping after delivery of the one copy, or the few copies, of the information object prevents unauthorized retrieval of the information object.

Access control in an information centric network

A method performed by a first node in a communication network, the first node being a first end-point of signalling with a second node in the communication network, the second node being a second end-point in said signalling. The method comprises receiving signals from the second node, said received signals comprising instructions for the first node to perform a plurality of actions as well as an indication for in which order said actions should be performed. The method also comprises performing said actions in said order. The method also comprises sending signals to the second node, said sent signals comprising an acknowledgement that the plurality of actions have been performed.

The disclosure relates to a method for selecting a capillary network gateway for a machine device of a capillary network, wherein the machine device is capable of being associated with at least a first and a second capillary network gateway, wherein the first capillary network gateway has a first level of availability and the second capillary network gateway has a second level of availability. The method comprises selecting, for the machine device, the first capillary network gateway for communication of a first type of data and the second capillary network gateway for communication of a second type of data. Selection of a capillary network gateway

The present disclosure relates to the capillary network gateway selection in a capillary network. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a methods and arrangements for selecting a capillary network gateway, CGW, for linking of a machine device, MD, arranged to operate in a capillary network, to a cellular network. The cellular network is arranged to operate according to a radio access technology different from the radio access technology of the capillary network, the capillary network including a plurality of CGWs, each of which CGWs being adapted to forward traffic between the capillary network and a radio base station, RBS, of the cellular network. The method comprises, for at least two CGWs of the plurality of CGWs, to gather (S) data related to cells of RBSs having a cellular radio connection to the respective CGW in the capillary network, and to control (S) selection of at least one CGW out of the at least two CGWs based on the gathered data.

Selection of capillary network gateway to a cellular network

A client node, a proxy node, and methods therein, as well as a protocol and a computer program for enabling interception of request messages in connection-less protocols. A primary request addressed to a server node is intercepted by a proxy node creating a secondary request based on said request and forwards this secondary request towards the server node. The proxy node receives a secondary response, being a response to the secondary request, creates a primary response based on the secondary response and forwards this primary response to the node from which the primary request was received. A response can thus be sent along the same path as a corresponding request was sent.

Proxy interception

The present invention relates to methods and devices for indicating Quality of Service (QoS) of a message intended for a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device in a capillary network. Thus, provided is, i.e., a method at a core network node of determining QoS of a message intended for an MTC device in a capillary network. The method comprises receiving a message on a destination port, a number of which destination port indicates a required QoS with which the message should be sent towards the MTC device, and deriving the required QoS from the destination port number. The method further comprises transferring the message in accordance with the required QoS towards the MTC device.

Indicating quality of service of a message intended for a machine type communication device in a capillary network

Methods for managing device connectivity of machine type communications devices include receiving a packet data protocol based command addressed to a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device, determining if the MTC device has an active packet data protocol context, in response to determining that the MTC device does not have an active packet data protocol context, activating a packet data protocol context for the MTC device, and forwarding the packet data protocol based command to the MTC device.

Device connectivity management for machine type communications

The invention relates to selecting a capillary gateway node via which a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device is to be connected to a radio access network. The network node configured to select a capillary network gateway node for connecting an MTC device to a radio access network comprises a processing unit and a memory containing instructions executable by the processing unit. The network node is operative to obtain an indication of availability of credentials of a plurality of capillary network gateway nodes being capable of connecting the MTC device to the radio access network, and to select one of the plurality of capillary network gateway nodes via which the MTC device is to be connected to the radio access network based at least in part on the availability of credentials of the plurality of capillary network gateway nodes.

Method and apparatus for CGW selection

The disclosure relates to a method for selecting a capillary network gateway for a machine device of a capillary network. The method comprises: acquiring a respective bearer service parameter for two or more capillary network gateways of the capillary network, each capillary network gateway being capable of data exchange between the machine device and a wireless network, and wherein the bearer service provides a backhaul connection in the wireless network; and selecting, for the machine device, a capillary network gateway based on the bearer service parameters.
