A base station sends system information to user equipment based on the user equipment detecting network coverage provided by the base station. The system information may include one or more network signaling flags indicative of a legacy regulation and an updated regulation (or a legacy version of a regulation and an updated version of the regulation) for operating on a frequency band. The user equipment transmits an indication to the base station as to whether it supports the legacy regulation and/or the updated regulation. The base station configures uplink and/or downlink resources on the frequency band for the user equipment based on the regulation indicated. The user equipment and the base station then communicate using the configured resources on the frequency band.

Systems and methods for supporting evolving band regulations

This disclosure provides various techniques for enabling user equipment to communicate with a non-terrestrial communication hub or network of non-terrestrial communication hubs via a non-terrestrial network (NTN). By conforming NTN communications to standards and regulations for terrestrial cellular communications, network capabilities of the user equipment may be enhanced. This may be accomplished by defining frequency band identifiers (IDs) for NTN frequency bands and various uplink and downlink frequencies within the NTN frequency bands.

Systems and methods for signaling non-terrestrial band identifiers

Embodiments herein provide various apparatuses and techniques that indicate multiple power classes that user equipment may support to a network. The user equipment may support at least a lower power class (e.g., having a lower maximum transmission power) and a higher power class (e.g., having a higher maximum transmission power) to the network. The user equipment may send indications to the network that it supports both the lower power class and the higher power class. If the network/user equipment are in a geographical region associated with regulations limiting transmission power to the lower maximum transmission power, then the network may configure a transmission power characteristic based on the lower power class. If the network/user equipment are in a geographical region associated with regulations limiting transmission power to the higher maximum transmission power, then the network may configure the transmission power characteristic based on the higher power class.

Method for multiple power class support

Embodiments described herein include methods, systems, and apparatuses for allowing a user equipment (UE) that supports dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with uplink (UL)-shift to access a cell and barring UEs that do not support DSS with UL-shift. Embodiments may use a cell barring field in a master information block and additional filters to indicate a barring state for a network node.

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for handling dynamic spectrum sharing with uplink subcarrier shift

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to techniques for measuring and/or detecting a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) of a received signal at a user equipment (UE). The received signal may include a desired signal, co-channel interference, adjacent channel interference, and an in-band blocker. The UE may filter (e.g., remove) the various interferences and in-band blocker. The UE may determine or measure a power (or Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI)) of the desired signal and a power (or RSSI) of the co-channel interference separately because the desired signal and the co-channel interference overlap in frequency. To do so, the UE may determine a total power of the received signal including the desired signal and co-channel interference. The UE may receive the desired signal again while an uplink transmission is deactivated (and thus without the interference). The UE may then calculate the SIR based on the total power and the power of the desired signal.

Ue signal to interference power ratio detection for network scheduling assistance

Aggregated channel bandwidth classes that overlap in frequency are allocated for a fallback group. The fallback group may define an increased or maximum bandwidth of aggregated component carriers as allocated by a network. By enabling the aggregated channel bandwidth classes for a fallback group to overlap in frequency, for an available aggregated channel bandwidth, a first aggregated channel bandwidth class may be implemented using a first number of component carriers, and a second aggregated channel bandwidth class may be implemented using a second number of component carriers different from the first. The different number of component carriers may enable more flexibility to more fully utilize the available aggregated channel bandwidth for communication. The network may then allocate one of these aggregated channel bandwidth classes to user equipment that more fully utilizes the available aggregated channel bandwidth for communication.

Carrier aggregation bandwidth classes with overlapping bandwidth ranges

User equipment may include a transmitter coupled to an antenna to enable the user equipment to transmit data with a communication node and/or a non-terrestrial network. The user equipment may transmit using high power over a period of time such that the transmission power of the user equipment is below an emission threshold. For example, the user equipment may adjust a buffer status report to reduce uplink allocation frequency. In another example, the user equipment may determine a duty cycle and transmit the data using high power based on the duty cycle. In another example, the user equipment may determine a priority of uplink symbols and transmit certain uplink symbols using high power. In this way, the user equipment may transmit using high power and may improve transmission range to the non-terrestrial network and/or a likelihood that transmissions may be received by the network while remaining within the emission threshold.

Systems and methods for high-power transmission

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for indicating to a spectrum access system communication preferences of a base station and/or of a network operator. Different methods may be used to indicate the communication preferences, including a dedicated type parameter transmitted with spectrum allocation requests from the base station, a rule-based system where the spectrum access system accesses communication preferences of the base station and/or network operator through an identifier corresponding to a rule definition, or the like. The spectrum access system may assign a channel to the network operator based on its communication preferences, such as to determine a channel assignment to correspond to a channel aligned with a raster of communications to be used by the network operator.

Systems, apparatus, and methods for indicating spectrum sharing

Methods and systems for controlling uplink (UL) transmission power of a user equipment (UE) electronic device includes determining, using the UE electronic device, that a maximum power availability for a transmission between the UE and a wireless network node is not appropriate to current conditions. Based on the determination that maximum power availability is not appropriate the UE electronic device sends a request to the wireless network node to reduce power for communication with the wireless network node. Based on the request, the UE electronic device communicates at a reduced power level for communications with the wireless network node.

Dynamic power reduction requests for wireless communications

A wireless network may include a base station and user equipment (UE). The UE and base station may perform initial access operations at frequencies greater than or equal to 57 GHz without the use of transmit power control (TPC) signals. The UE devices and the base station may also perform connected mode operations at these frequencies without the use of TPC signals. The UE may perform power saving operations without the use of TPC signals. The base station may handle communications for multiple UE devices in its cell by partitioning the UE into groups based on the estimated path loss for each UE. The base station may perform TDMA, OFDMA, or a combination of TDMA/OFDMA scheduling for the UE devices. Performing these communications without TPC signaling maximizes the amount of network resources available for other purposes, simplifies communication scheduling, and maximizes the efficiency of the network.

Wireless networks without uplink transmit power control

A testing device determines an Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) of a wanted signal at a beam-peak direction and a maximum Total Radiated Power (TRP) of the wanted signal. The testing device then determines a power difference (ΔP) between the EIRP of the wanted signal at the beam-peak direction and the maximum TRP of the wanted signal. The testing device determines EIRP of a spectral emission mask (SEM) at each measurement bandwidth step at the beam-peak direction. The testing device then determines TRP at each measurement bandwidth step by determining a difference between the EIRP of the SEM at that measurement bandwidth step and the power difference (ΔP). The testing device compares the TRP at each measurement bandwidth step to a SEM specification, and reports whether the SEM specification has been met.

User equipment may transmit and receive wireless signals to and from various communication networks. Furthermore, user equipment may indicate usage capabilities to the various wireless communication networks to enable the user equipment to transmit and/or receive wireless signals to and from at least two different communication networks. In particular, the user equipment may indicate usage capabilities of supporting both Frequency Range 2 (FR2) wireless signals of a fifth generation (5G) network and 7-24 gigahertz (GHz) wireless signals of a sixth generation (6G) network in an intermediate frequency range of the user equipment. The communication network(s) may then configure and/or schedule the user equipment based on the usage capabilities to enable the user equipment to simultaneously or non-simultaneously communicate using both the FR2 wireless signals and the 7-24 GHz wireless signals while preventing interference in the intermediate frequency range of the user equipment.

Systems and methods for network coexistence

User equipment that is capable of filtering for an irregular bandwidth of an allocated channel may send an indication of this capability to a network, which may then configure the channel to a next higher standard channel size, enabling the user equipment to filter this larger channel bandwidth to the irregular bandwidth. User equipment that is not capable of filtering for the irregular bandwidth may send an indication that it does not have this capability to the network, which may then configure the channel to a next lower standard channel size, thus avoiding the need for the user equipment to filter a larger channel bandwidth to the irregular bandwidth. In cases where the network detects that a blocking signal is not present that may interfere with the allocated channel, the network may configure the channel to the next higher standard channel size.

Systems and methods for supporting irregular bandwidth channels

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for operating transceiver circuitry to transmit or receive signals on various frequency ranges. To do so, an electronic device may determine a receive delay between one or more messages received on different component carriers and may transmit the receive delay to a base station to update how communications are transmitted on one of the component carriers. The update made to at least one of the component carriers may compensate for the receive delay between the different component carriers. Compensating for the receive delay may improve operations that delay downlink communications to reduce a likelihood or stop simultaneous downlink and uplink communications by further adjusting for delays seen at an electronic device when communicating with base stations disposed at a different distances from the electronic device.
