A composition comprising at least one polymer having the structure A-B-A', wherein A and A&#x2032; may be the same or different and each is a degradable polyester component and wherein B is the reaction product resulting from the reaction between a diol, having one or more pendant oligomeric or polymeric groups, and A and A&#x2032;. Additionally, a bioresorbable patch comprising: (a) an adhesion barrier component comprising the composition in the form of a film; and (b) an adhesive component comprising (i) at least one synthetic adhesive polymer and/or (ii) at least one polysaccharide. Also, a method of wound healing, comprising administering the composition or apply the patch to a patient.

Pendant hydrophile bearing biodegradable compositions and related devices

Amphiphilic biomimetic phosphorylcholine-containing silicone compounds for use in both topical and internal applications as components in biomedical devices. The silicone compounds, which include zwitterionic phosphorylcholine groups, may be polymerizable or non-polymerizable. Specific examples of applications include use as active functional components in ophthalmic lenses, ophthalmic lens care solutions, liquid bandages, wound dressings, and lubricious and anti-thrombogenic coatings.

Phosphorylcholine-based amphiphilic silicones for medical applications

Silicone-containing monomer of formula (I); wherein said silicone-containing monomer comprises a silicone-containing moiety and an oxazolidinone moiety and wherein R is a silicone-containing moiety, and Rmay be an H, wherein A represents the oxazolidinone ring of the oxazolidinone moiety and Ris a divalent Calkylene or Carylalkylene. The monomer is used for the preparation of a composition for use in manufacturing of ophthalmic lenses potentially with anti-infective properties. Also, methods of making the present monomers are described.
