A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive assignment information for receiving a first codeword using a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) in a first set of resource blocks (RBs), and a second codeword using a second, different MCS in a second set of RBs. The first and second sets of RBs may be in a first time interval in a first bandwidth part using a first subcarrier spacing. The WTRU may receive, in symbols of the first time interval in the first bandwidth part, the first codeword using the first MCS in the first set of RBs and the second codeword using the second, different MCS in the second set of RBs. At least a portion of the first codeword and at least a portion of the second codeword may be received in at least a first symbol in the symbols in the first time interval.

Physical (PHY) layer solutions to support use of mixed numerologies in the same channel

ePDCCH may be provided. For example, a WTRU may receive a configuration for monitoring an ePDCCH resource. Based on the configuration, the WTRU may be configured to monitor and may monitor the ePDCCH resource on a particular subframe. Additionally, a WTRU may derive an aggregation level for a subframe associated with an aggregation level number N. The WTRU may transmit or monitor an ePDCCH using the aggregation level associated with the Nfor the subframe. A WTRU may also receive a reference signal. The WTRU may then determine the type of reference signal received. The WTRU may perform a demodulation of the PDSCH or ePDCCH using a demodulation timing based on the determined type. The ePDCCH or PDSCH may also be monitored or received by identifying a demodulation reference timing implicitly based on a location of one or more ePDCCH resources where the WTRU may receive DCI.

Systems and/or methods for providing enhanced PDCCH in a multiple carrier based and/or quasi-collated network

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive configuration information indicating a set of physical channel frequency resources. The WTRU may receive indication information indicating an allocation of at least a subset of the set of physical channel frequency resources. Further, the WTRU may determine a time period, and one or more physical channel frequency resources from the subset of the set of physical channel frequency resources. The WTRU may transmit data in a physical shared channel transmission using the determined one or more physical shared channel frequency resources during the determined time period. Further, the WTRU may determine a time location for reception of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information associated with the transmitted data, and the determination of the time location may be based on the subset of the set of physical channel frequency resources. The WTRU may receive the HARQ-ACK information during the determined time location.

Methods, devices and systems for grant-less uplink multiple access

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for providing a single-bit hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback and a multi-bit HARQ feedback in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). For example, a WTRU may receive, via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), downlink control information (DCI). The DCI may include a field that indicates a code block group (CBG) based retransmission for at least one transport block (TB). On a condition that the DCI does not include the field, the WTRU may transmit, via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), a single-bit HARQ feedback for a TB-based retransmission. On a condition that the DCI includes the field, the WTRU may transmit, via the PUCCH, the multi-bit HARQ feedback for the CBG-based retransmission. The WTRU may be configured to provide the single-bit HARQ feedback for the TB-based retransmission and a multi-bit HARQ feedback for the CBG-based retransmission.

Method and apparatus for improving hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback performance of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) when impacted by low latency traffic

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a first signal including a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) in a cell. The PSS and SSS may use a first numerology. Further, the first numerology may have a first subcarrier spacing, while other resources of the cell at a same time as the PSS or the SSS use a second numerology with a different subcarrier spacing than the first numerology. In addition, the WTRU may synchronize to a timing of the cell based on the PSS and SSS. Also, the WTRU may receive a second signal in the cell, and the second signal may use the second numerology. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit user data. In a further example, the WTRU may search a frequency raster for the PSS and the SSS.

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive configuration information indicating a set of physical channel frequency resources. The WTRU may receive downlink control information (DCI), and the DCI may include an indication of an allocation of at least a subset of the set of physical channel frequency resources. Further, the WTRU may determine a time period and one or more physical channel frequency resources from the subset of the set of physical channel frequency resources. The WTRU may transmit control information in a physical shared channel transmission using the determined one or more physical shared channel frequency resources during the determined time period. Also, the control information may include a WTRU-identifier (ID) associated with the WTRU. In an example, the control information may include a new data indicator (NDI) or a retransmission of previously transmitted control information. In a further example, the physical shared channel transmission may further include data.

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a first signal including a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The PSS and SSS may be received in a resource block of a cell and the resource block may have a first numerology. Further, the first numerology may have a first subcarrier spacing, while other resources of the cell at a same time as the resource block may have a second numerology with a different subcarrier spacing than the first numerology. In addition, the WTRU may determine synchronization based on the PSS and SSS. Also, the WTRU may receive a second signal in the cell, and the second signal may have the second numerology. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit user data. In a further example, the WTRU may search a frequency raster for the PSS and the SSS.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), frequency hopping, and power control. NOMA may be applied to asynchronous and/or grant-free transmissions. Transmissions from multiple WTRUs may be performed using the same resources, and may comprise information for correctly identifying and decoding the transmissions. The transmissions may comprise a built-in deterministic sequence to support timing acquisition at a receiver. The transmissions may be distinguished based on respective transmit power used for the transmissions. Such transmit power may be dynamically controlled by applying a randomly selected power offset. The power control may be performed autonomously by a WTRU.

Uplink asynchronous non-orthogonal multiple access

Methods, apparatuses and systems are provided for grant-less (GL) uplink transmissions. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a configuration of a set of GL Physical Uplink Shared Channel (GL-PUSCH) frequency resources. The WTRU may monitor for a downlink control information (DCI) message, wherein the DCI message includes an indication of a presence of at least a subset of the set of GL-PUSCH frequency resources. If the WTRU successfully receives the DCI message, the WTRU may select one or more GL-PUSCH frequency resources from the subset of the set of GL-PUSCH frequency resources and may select a time period. The WTRU may transmit data on a GL-PUSCH using the selected GL-PUSCH frequency resources during the selected time period. The WTRU may also monitor for hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) based on the selected GL-PUSCH frequency resources. The WTRU may monitor for the DCI during a fixed time window.

Techniques may be used to generate a multi-length Zero Tail (ZT) Discrete Fourier Transform-spread Orthogonal Frequency Domain Modulation (DFT-s-OFDM) signal for transmission. A selected allocation of frequency resources may include a plurality of subbands. Subbands may be assigned to wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) (i.e., users), and zero head length and zero tail length may be assigned to each of the assigned subbands according to a pattern to combat inter-symbol interference (ISI). The ZT DFT-s OFDM signal may generated for transmission over the assigned subbands in accordance with the assigned zero head length and the assigned zero tail length.

Multi-length ZT DFT-s-OFDM transmission

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), using mixed numerologies, may, in a first codeword, map a first set of bits to a higher order modulation scheme and a second set of bits to a lower order scheme, and transmit the first codeword. The WTRU may determine that data of the first codeword is to be re-transmitted on a second codeword, containing the same number of bits as the first codeword. In the second codeword, the WTRU may map a first set of bits to the lower order scheme and a second set of bits to the higher order scheme. The first set of bits of the second codeword may contain the same number of bits as the second set of bits of the first codeword and may contain at least a subset of data in the first set of bits of the first codeword. The WTRU may transmit the second codeword.
