An apparatus is disclosed for jammer detection. In example aspects, the apparatus includes a wireless transceiver configured to be connected to multiple antennas. The wireless transceiver is configured to transmit a radar transmit signal using a first antenna of the multiple antennas. The wireless transceiver is also configured to receive a radar receive signal via a second antenna of the multiple antennas, with the radar receive signal associated with the radar transmit signal and comprising a jamming signal component. The wireless transceiver is additionally configured to adjust at least one transmission parameter based on a detected presence of the jamming signal component. The wireless transceiver is further configured to transmit an uplink signal based on the adjusted at least one transmission parameter.

Jammer detection

An apparatus is disclosed that implements interference and/or clutter cancellation using cross-channel equalization. In example aspects, the apparatus includes a wireless transceiver configured to be connected to multiple feed ports. The wireless transceiver is also configured to transmit an electromagnetic signal using a first feed port of the multiple feed ports. A modulated spur is generated based on the transmission of the electromagnetic signal. The wireless transceiver is additionally configured to receive two versions of a receive signal respectively via two feed ports of the multiple feed ports. The receive signal comprises the modulated spur and a mutual-coupling component associated with the transmission of the electromagnetic signal. The wireless transceiver is further configured to generate a filtered signal by attenuating the mutual-coupling component and the modulated spur within one of the two versions of the receive signal using cross-channel equalization.

Interference and/or clutter cancellation using cross-channel equalization

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless device may transmit a frequency-modulated continuous-waveform (FMCW) dual ramp radar signal over a time duration that sweeps from a first frequency to a second frequency and from the second frequency to the first frequency. The wireless device may receive a reflection of the radar signal with a first reflected part that corresponds to the first part of the radar signal and a second reflected part that corresponds to the second part of the radar signal. The wireless device may compare the first reflected part and a time-inverted version of the second reflected part to estimate a noise pattern. The wireless device may perform an action based at least in part on the noise pattern. Numerous other aspects are described.

Noise estimation with signal ramps for radar

In some aspects, a radar device may receive a plurality of received signals comprising a plurality of reflected frequency modulated continuous wave radar signals and phase noise. The radar device may obtain a frequency-domain representation of the received signals comprising a plurality of frequency-domain spectrums. The radar device may determine a shaped noise component of the frequency-domain representation corresponding to a negative distance portion of the frequency-domain representation. The radar device may determine a shaped decision boundary for target detection based at least in part on the shaped noise component, wherein the shaped decision boundary corresponds to a positive distance portion of the frequency-domain representation. The radar device may detect a radar target based at least in part on the shaped decision boundary. The radar device may perform an action based at least in part on detecting the radar target. Frequency modulated continuous wave radar detection in the presence of phase noise

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines a mutual coupling signal associated with a transmit antenna and a receive antenna, determines a mutual coupling difference between the mutual coupling signal and a reference signal, determines a beat signal difference between a current beat signal and a previous beat signal, and determines an amount of micro-motion that is present within a near field. The UE determines whether human tissue is present within the near field based on the mutual coupling difference and the amount of micro-motion. Based on determining that the human tissue is present within the near field, the UE determines an amount of radio frequency exposure associated with the human tissue. Based on determining that the amount of radio frequency exposure exceeds a maximum permissible exposure, the UE reduces the amount of radio frequency exposure associated with the human tissue.

Human proximity sensor using short-range radar

An apparatus is disclosed for proximity detection using adaptive mutual coupling cancellation. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes at least two antennas, a wireless transceiver connected to the at least two antennas, and a mutual coupling cancellation module. The at least two antennas include a first antenna and a second antenna, which are mutually coupled electromagnetically. The second antenna includes two feed ports. The wireless transceiver is configured to transmit a radar transmit signal via the first antenna and receive two versions of a radar receive signal respectively via the two feed ports of the second antenna. The wireless transceiver is also configured to adjust a transmission parameter based on a decoupled signal. The transmission parameter varies based on a range to the object. The mutual coupling cancellation module is configured to generate the decoupled signal based on the two versions of the radar receive signal.

Proximity detection using adaptive mutual coupling cancellation

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to a programmable multi-mode digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for generating a frequency-modulated signal. For example, certain aspects provide a circuit for sweeping a frequency of an output signal. The circuit generally includes a DAC having an input coupled to an input path of the circuit and an output coupled to an output path of the circuit, a first mixer selectively incorporated in the input path coupled to the input of the DAC, and a second mixer selectively incorporated in the output path coupled to the output of the DAC.
