Presented are embodiments of methods and systems that provide for Internet advertisement pricing and placement to be variably based on the advertisement's performance within a given category of Internet media, while at the same time achieving predictable delivery and pricing for both advertisers and publishers. Techniques are presented where an advertiser's online campaign will be pre-empted only for underperformance on its own merits, and not for its relative performance or price versus other advertisers. Further, techniques are presented for allowing publishers of advertisements to realize increased revenue from their high value media while using tag passbacks to secure a minimum reserve pricing of their choice.

Assembling internet display pages with content provided from multiple servers after failure of one server

An online exchange system and method supports open insertion order operations for online advertising markets displaying inefficiencies when delivering advertising media. Inefficiencies occur in an open ad exchange for online advertising when there is an under delivery of advertising content to identified target recipients. The online exchange system anticipates under deliveries and automatically fills instances of under delivery with impressions from the publisher inventory of the exchange according to fill requirements of the ad agency providing the advertising content (for example, budget limits and types of impressions to be used for filling the under delivery). The online exchange system also provides a mechanism for issuing a billing credit or discount to the agency if the bill for total impressions delivered according to the original campaign order and the automated under delivery fills exceeds a campaign budget.

This invention relates to a system and method for presenting to a user relevant areas of distributed computer network sites. In particular, the invention disclosed infers and cross reference user mind sets with data stores of potential user goals. The user mind sets indicate a navigational goal of a user over the distributed computer network. In addition, the invention cross-references indicated user goals with data stores of service and service providers providing those services. The invention presents targeted service and service providers to the user across the distributed computer network thereby enabling the user to navigate towards the user goal.

Internet contextual communication system

A method for enabling a consumer to remotely manage a media content subscription is described. The method includes transmitting, over a network from a computing device associated with a consumer, a request to set up an account. The request is received at a local point of presence having an address within the local media market in which a local media content provider is providing the media content subscription. The local point of present includes a storage device and a plurality of servers located within the local media market, with the plurality of servers being configured to execute computer programmed instructions to receive the request to set up the account and, in response, create a user profile and an account associated with the consumer. The method further includes transmitting, over the network from the computing device associated with the consumer, at least one of user profile information, account information, and subscription information, which is stored on the storage device of the local point of presence.

Remote subscription management method and system

A method and system to enable remote management of a media content subscription are described. The method includes receiving, at a local point of presence from a consumer, a request to access media content that is available under a media content subscription. The method further includes capturing, at the local point of presence from a consumer, a request to access media content from the local media content provider and transforming the captured media content into a digital stream that is suitable for streaming over a network. Finally, the method includes streaming the digital stream over the network, via which the consumer, using a computer device, accesses the media content.

A method and system for enabling a consumer to remotely access a media content subscription are described. The method includes providing a local point of presence to the consumer. The local point of presence has an address within the local media market in which the local media content provider provides the media content subscription. The method further includes allowing the consumer to use the address of the local point of presence to subscribe to the media content subscription from the local media content provider. Finally, the method includes receiving, at the address of the local point of presence from the local media content provider, media content that is available to the consumer under the media content subscription that is subscribed to by the consumer.
