Assessing compromises of data security is achieved by establishing access control policies for data files in storage devices across an enterprise. A list is compiled of the data files that were accessed by processes executing on processors of the enterprise. A suspicion score is assigned to each of the processes based on deviations of in-memory behaviors of the processes from established criteria. In response to the suspicion score meeting a suspicious process criterion, the file system operations performed by the suspicious process are analyzed against the access control policies and the suspicion score is modified based on a degree to which the file system operations performed by the suspicious process violate the access control policies.

Context-aware compromise assessment

Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for selective encryption of outgoing data are provided herein. A method includes monitoring a set of outgoing data from a first user, identifying one or more items of sensitive information from the set of outgoing data, encrypting the one or more items of sensitive information to produce one or more items of encrypted sensitive information, and replacing the one or more items of sensitive information with the one or more items of encrypted sensitive information in the set of outgoing data.

Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for generating a heat map to identify vulnerable data users within an organization are provided herein. A method includes comparing each of one or more items of data against a set of one or more pre-configured data sensitivity parameters to detect one or more sensitive data operations within the one or more items of data, generating an alert corresponding to each of the one or more sensitive data operations, wherein the alert provides one or more items of information pertaining to the corresponding sensitive data operation, and processing the one or more alerts to generate a heat map representing an association between each of multiple users and the one or more sensitive data operations usage.

Generating a heat map to identify vulnerable data users within an organization

Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for using font information installed in an operating system to intercept text being printed are provided herein. A method includes intercepting an item of glyph data directed to at least one of a printing device and a display device, wherein the item of glyph data comprises a font-specific representation of a text character associated with a device context of the at least one of the printing device and the display device, converting the item of glyph data to an item of text data based on one or more items of font-specific information, analyzing the item of text data to classify one or more aspects of content in the item of text data, and analyzing the one or more aspects of content in the item of text data against one or more data policies to determine eligibility of the item of text data for transmission to the at least one of a printing device and a display device.
