Methods and apparatus for decoding system information include determining a maximum repetition rate duration based at least in part on a master information block (MIB). The methods and apparatus further include generating a distributed system information block (SIB) decoding scheme for allocating radio frequency resources between a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a second SIM. In some aspects, the distributed SIB decoding scheme includes a partitioned SIB decoding schedule for the maximum repetition rate duration and based at least in part on a continuous SIB decoding period. Additionally, the methods and apparatus include attempting to decode one or more SIBs during the maximum repetition rate duration according to the distributed SIB decoding scheme.

The present disclosure presents a method and apparatus for improved reselection during mode transitions at a user equipment (UE). For example, the disclosure presents a method for identifying that a user equipment (UE) has started switching from a first priority scheduling mode to a second priority scheduling mode while making measurements for reselection. In addition, such an example method, may include initiating a mode transition timer in response to the identification and triggering a search for one or more frequencies of the second priority scheduling mode upon expiration of the mode transition timer. As such, an improved reselection during mode transitions at UE may be achieved.

For example, the disclosure presents example methods that can include computing a predicted serving signal strength associated with a serving cell where a mobility state of a user equipment is one of a stationary state or a low mobility state. Apparatus and methods of receive diversity (RxD) full cell search by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system are described. In an aspect, a first set of received energies of a first signal received at a first antenna and a second set of received energies of a second signal received at a second antenna may be separately determined. Based thereon, a set of peak energies and corresponding antenna indices, along with a slot timing of at least one cell corresponding to the set of peak energies and corresponding antenna indices, may be determined. A frame timing and a scrambling code for the at least one cell then may be determined using a respective one of the first antenna and the second antenna corresponding to each of the set of peak energies and the corresponding antenna indices, along with the respective slot timing of the at least one cell.

Apparatus and method for wireless communication in a wireless communication network include operating a wireless device on a first wireless communication technology and detecting a first cell in first frequency of a second wireless communication technology. The aspects also include determining the detected cell of the second wireless communication technology satisfies a first reselection criterion based on a first measurement and identifying a second frequency of the second wireless communication technology as an undetected frequency based on monitoring the second frequency without detecting a second cell. Aspects also include expediting a determination of whether to perform cell reselection to the second wireless communication technology based on the undetected frequency and the detected cell of the second wireless communication technology satisfying the first reselection criterion and determining to reselect to the detected cell of the second wireless communication technology.

Methods and apparatus of monitoring cells in a wireless communication system may include determining existence of a condition for performing a cell search on a frequency. In addition, the methods and apparatus may include calculating an undetected energy-related value for a hypothetical undetected cell based on a measured energy-related value of each detected cell on the frequency in response to determining the condition for performing the cell search. The methods and apparatus may further include determining whether to perform the cell search based on the undetected energy-related value and a reselection criteria.

At least one feature pertains to a method of communication that comprises aligning a measurement task that utilizes a resource within a user equipment, such that at least a portion of the measurement task is performed during a time that the resource is enabled in the user equipment, and executing the measurement task during the time that the resource is enabled in the user equipment. In one example, the measurement task may be a searcher task, the resource may comprise receiver circuitry, and the time that the resource is enabled corresponds to a DRX monitoring interval of a downlink channel, such as a high speed shared control channel. The present disclosure presents a method and apparatus for determining reselection parameters for detected cells. For example, the method may include receiving system information block (SIB) data associated with one or more cells in a neighbor cell list (NCL). In such example, the SIB data may include a ranking offset parameter associated with each of the NCL cells. Furthermore, such an example method may include detecting a cell that is not in the NCL, determining a reselection ranking value associated with each of the NCL cells, the detected cell and the serving cell. In addition, in some examples, such method may include ranking the one or more NCL cells, the detected cell and the serving cell in a ranking list based on the reselection ranking values. As such, reselection parameters for detected cells may be determined.

Disclosed are methods and apparatus for reducing UE's power consumption by controlling early decoding boundary. In one aspect, a UE is configured to receive a data or voice frame from a base station. The UE selects one or more quality metrics for determining decoding boundary of the received frame and computes the selected one or more quality metrics. The UE then determines a decoding boundary for the frame based on one or more computed quality metrics. The UE then decodes the received frames at the determined decoding boundary and determines whether the decoding of the frame was successful. If the early decoding of the frame was successful, the UE may terminate reception of the frame. If the early decoding of the frame was unsuccessful, the UE may adjust the decoding boundary and decodes the frame at the adjusted boundary.

Still further the aspects includes expediting a determination of whether to perform cell reselection to the second wireless communication technology based on the detected cell of the second wireless communication technology satisfying the first reselection criterion. Additionally, aspects include determining to reselect to the detected cell of the second wireless communication technology when the at least one new measurement satisfies a second reselection criterion for the reselection time period.

Apparatus and method of inter-radio access technology measurement scheduling
