Displaying a status of a medical line includes receiving data characterizing a time at which use of the medical line commenced and a target usable time of the medical line. The medical line corresponds to a fluid transport channel for a patient. Using (i) the received data and (ii) a measure of elapsed time since use of the medical line commenced, the status of the medical line is determined that characterizes (a) a time until the target usable time of the medical line will be reached or (b) whether the target usable time of the medical line has been reached. A graphical user interface (GUI) element representing the status of the medical line as a function of time is displayed in a graphical user interface (GUI) display space. A system according to invention principles advantageously automatically displays a parameter value within the closest Flowsheet parameter acquisition time interval column. A user interface system provides patient medical parameter data for trend indicative display covering a time period comprising user selectable acquisition time intervals. The system includes an acquisition processor for acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter comprising a plurality of data values at a corresponding plurality of different times within multiple user selectable patient parameter acquisition intervals of a time period. The data processor determines for a particular user selectable acquisition time interval a patient parameter data value closest in time to a center time point of the particular user selected acquisition time interval and excludes other patient parameter data values acquired within the particular user selectable acquisition time interval. A generator generates data representing an image showing a trend indicative display of the patient parameter including the determined patient parameter data value associated with the particular user selectable acquisition time interval and omits the excluded data values.

A user interface system provides patient medical parameter data for trend indicative display covering a time period comprising user selectable acquisition time intervals. An acquisition processor acquires, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter comprising a plurality of data values at a corresponding plurality of different times within multiple user selectable patient parameter acquisition intervals of a time period. A generator generates data representing a first image showing a trend indicative display of the patient parameter covering a time period comprising user selectable acquisition time intervals and including a first number of data points in an individual acquisition time interval. The generator generates data representing an image window comprising an expansion of the individual acquisition time interval and including a second number of data points greater than the first number, in response to user command. The generator updates the individual acquisition time interval of the first image with at least one data point selected from the expanded individual acquisition time interval window to replace the first number of data points, in response to user command.

System and user interface supporting trend indicative display of patient medical parameters

A system and a method are described for allowing a user to generate a timeline and display patient data with varying time intervals. The time intervals can range from a few minutes to several hours. By allowing a user to select start time and end time when a time interval change occurs, the time interval change is applied to a selected portion or duration of the timeline rather than the full length. Also multiple time intervals may be selected and applied to the patient data.
