The present invention provides a lighting apparatus with an elongated housing which accommodates a light source. The housing may be pivoted to rotate between a stored position and a deployed position. The housing may be maintained at a plurality of desired positions within its range of rotation. In addition, according to a feature of the invention, the elongated housing may be relatively rigid, yet also articulated, so that it can flex transversely in response to an applied force. In an embodiment, the housing may be provided with a swivel portion that can be used to change the direction of the light. Various electrical features may be provided as well, such as a brightness control feature and an auto-off feature that switches off the light in the stowed position.

A multicolored LED vehicle interior light is described. In various implementations, a switch is used to select one of a plurality of LED lights, in which one light is of a color, such as red, which is suitable for preserving night vision.

A remote light source device for generating light which is transmitted to a light emitting device of an illumination system by a fiberoptic cable coupled between the light source device and the light emitting device. The light source device includes a light source and a cover or housing containing the light source, the cover or housing having a light orifice aligned with the light source. A fiberoptic cable coupler assembly is mounted to an exterior surface of the cover or housing adjacent the light orifice. The coupler assembly permits removable coupling of a fiberoptic cable to the device, the coupler assembly also being operative for aligning an end of the cable with the light orifice of the cover or housing so that light generated by the light source is received at the end of the cable for transmission thereby. Structures are provided for preventing the fiberoptic cable coupler assembly from becoming substantially heated by the light source.

A telescope lens assembly removably mountable on a spectacle frame is provided which includes a mounting bracket having a first pair of fixed clamping arms, a telescope lens pivotally mounted on the mounting bracket with a support bracket, a spring clip having a handle, a second pair of clamping arms for engaging with the first pair of clamping arms, and two projections, and a wire spring wound around each of the two projections which engages with the support bracket to allow precise placement of the telescope lenses in an operative position from a non-operative position.
