A method comprises receiving, from one or more search nodes of a distributed system, one or more requests for log data, the one or more search nodes being associated with one or more first storage systems; identifying an indexed portion of the log data stored in a second storage system of one or more second storage systems based on a particular request of the one or more requests, the log data being indexed by one or more indexing nodes independently from the one or more requests being received and processed by the one or more search nodes; changing a first number of the one or more search nodes and updating a second number of the one or more indexing nodes independently.

Indexing and relaying data to hot storage

A system for resolving conflicts between data source updates and user edits to an ontology before applying the resulting changes to the ontology and related methods are disclosed. The system is programmed to receive data source updates from data sources and transform the data source updates to updates to ontology data. The system is also programmed to receive edits to ontology data from user accounts. The system is programmed to review these updates or edits to the ontology and resolve conflicts according to a predetermined strategy, such as prioritizing a user edit over a data source update. The resulting changes are incorporated to one or more databases where representations of the ontology data are stored.

Resolving conflicts between data source updates and user edits to ontology data

A system for enabling granular access control over ontology data and related methods are disclosed. The system is programmed to receive data source updates from data sources having respective sets of permissions for access control, transform the data source updates to changes to an ontology, and control access to the ontology based on the sets of permissions. The system is further programmed to receive a specification of one or more rules referencing attributes of user accounts or properties of ontology entities and corresponding one or more lists of permissions. The system is programmed to then enforce a security policy based on the specification to further control access to the ontology.

Fine-grained permission models for ontology data

A method is disclosed. The method comprises receiving, from one or more search nodes of a distributed system, one or more requests for log data, the one or more search nodes being associated with one or more hot storage systems; identifying, from an index catalog, an indexed portion of the log data stored in a cold storage system of one or more cold storage systems based on at least part of the particular request, the index catalog containing pointers to indexed portions of the log data in the one or more cold storage systems, the indexing being performed by one or more indexing nodes independently from the receiving by the one or more search nodes; and sending the indexed portion to the one or more search nodes for storage in the associated one or more hot storage systems, wherein the method is performed using one or more processors.

A method, performed by one or more processors, is disclosed, the method comprising receiving a stream of log data from one or more applications and indexing a plurality of different portions of the received stream to respective locations of a cold storage system. The method may also comprise storing, in an index, catalog pointers to the respective locations of the indexed portions in the cold storage system. One or more requests for log data may be received, and the method may also comprise subsequently identifying from the index catalog one or more pointers to respective indexed portions appropriate to at least part of the one or more requests, and sending of the identified one or more indexed portions to one or more hot storage systems each associated with a respective search node for processing of one or more search requests.

Database systems and user interfaces for interactive data association, analysis, and presentation

Methods, systems and computer programs are disclosed for managing data bugs in a data processing system comprising one or more data resources. The method may comprise receiving an indication of one or more bugs relating to one or more data resources, and contextual information for the one or more bugs and determining, from the received indication, one or more bug types and grouping the bugs by bug type for the same data resource to produce a aggregated list of open issues requiring fixing. Further operations may comprise presenting the aggregated list of one or more open issues on a user interface for selection, the one or more open issues being selectable, and, responsive to receiving selection of a particular open issue, presenting contextual information for the one or more bugs within the group on the user interface.

In one embodiment, a data processing method comprises, using a first computer, in response to detecting a change in a data source: automatically generating a dataset comprising a subset of data from the data source, generating a unique dataset identifier, and associating the dataset identifier with the dataset in digital data storage; generating a display description that comprises: the dataset identifier; and for each particular graphical data display widget among one or more graphical data display widgets, instructions that specify a widget type, an order and one or more widget configuration values for the particular graphical data display widget; transmitting the display description to a second computer.
