Systems and methods are provided for predictively mitigating the impacts of travel across uneven terrain by a work machine having an implement for carrying load and capable of movement relative to the work machine frame. During a current operation, inputs are collected from perception sensors corresponding to terrain characteristics in at least a forward travel direction, from position sensors corresponding to a current position of the work implement relative to the work machine frame, and from load sensors corresponding to characteristics of a current load being carried by the work implement. Based on the various inputs, one or more impacts are predicted to result from travel across the terrain, and one or more work machine operating values are dynamically controlled during travel by the work machine across the terrain based at least on the predicted one or more impacts.

System and method for predictively mitigating the impacts of travel across uneven terrain by a work machine

A system and method are provided for determining mistrack conditions in work vehicles such as excavators having first and second tracks. A controller uses data from onboard sensors (e.g., cameras, lidar) having an external field of view to detect a first position of, e.g., a track of the work vehicle relative to a first external point in a local reference system independent of a global reference system and to detect, upon the work vehicle having advanced from the detected first position a predetermined distance, a second position of the at least first component of the work vehicle relative to a second external point in the local reference system. The controller further determines an amount of mistrack error corresponding to a difference between the detected second position and an expected second position, and generates an output signal based on the determined amount of mistrack error.

Automated detection of mistrack conditions for self-propelled work vehicles

A battery starting and charging system that monitors battery and other sensor readings; tracks vehicle state, determines a charging voltage based on battery temperature and vehicle state; sets the alternator to charge the battery with the charging voltage; determines current collected parameters based on the battery and other sensor readings; and makes vehicle start predictions based on the current collected parameters. The system can also determine whether the vehicle actually started; add the current collected parameters to a set of start events if it started, and to a set of no-start events if it didn't start. The start prediction can also be based on the sets of start and no-start events for one or multiple vehicles. The collected parameters and start predictions can also be based on collected weather data. The system can use a local interconnect network (LIN) alternator with a LIN network.
