A meter assembly for a vehicle instrument panel. The meter assembly includes a plurality of plates stacked in alignment with each other. Each one of the plurality of plates includes a first alignment member. All of the first alignment members are aligned along a vertical alignment plane of the meter assembly, which extends perpendicular to a horizontal alignment plane of the meter assembly. The plurality of plates includes a printed circuit, a case, and an instrument dial. The printed circuit board includes a plurality of light emitting elements. The case includes a plurality of light guides aligned with the light emitting elements. The instrument dial has graphics illuminated by the light emitting elements.

Meter assembly

A light guide structure includes a first light guide and a second light guide configured to guide light therein. and a bridge integrally formed with the first light guide and the second light guide. The bridge includes a first end connected to the first light guide, a second end connected to the second light guide, and a light trap section formed between the first end and the second end. The light trap section includes an inwardly V-shaped wall section and a outwardly V-shaped wall section on opposing sides from each other, the inwardly V-shaped wall section configured with a greater V-angle than the outwardly V-shaped wall section.

A meter assembly for a vehicle instrument panel. The meter assembly includes a reflector case having a plurality of light guides extending from an inner surface of the reflector case. Neighboring ones of the plurality of light guides have different lengths and extend different distances from the inner surface of the reflector case.

An instrument cluster assembly is provided and includes a case assembly having a visor attached to a front side of the case assembly, the visor having at least one sound hole. The instrument cluster assembly also includes a dial sheet having at least one indicator. The instrument cluster assembly also includes a lens mounted to the visor such that the at least one indicator of the dial sheet is viewable through the lens. The instrument cluster assembly also includes a speaker that generates sound waves and a sound tube that directs the sound waves from the speaker to the at least one sound hole of the visor such that the sound waves generated by the speaker travel through the sound tube and exit the at least one sound hole of the visor without traveling through the dial sheet and the lens.
