Examples of sensor-based roaming issue identification in a wireless network are disclosed. In an example, a wireless roam for a sensor may be initiated from a source AP to a target AP. Management traffic between the sensor and one of the source AP or the target AP during the wireless roam may be monitored. In response to detecting an anomaly in the management traffic, the wireless roam for the sensor from the source AP to the target AP may be re-initiated. Management traffic capture on the sensor during the reinitiated wireless roam may be initiated. A roaming issue for the sensor may be identified based on analysis of the captured management traffic and the same may be reported.

Sensor-based roaming issue identification in a wireless network

Systems and methods are provided for mitigating denial-of-service attacks that can disrupt onboarding internet-of-things (IoT) devices onto a network and ensuring legitimate IoT devices are onboarded. Example implementations include receiving, at an access point (AP) from a device, a chirp signal comprising a hash of data including a first public key of an IoT device. Upon verification of the first public key, the AP generates a context based on a first public key received from the authenticator. The context comprises information for onboarding the IoT device without subsequent communications between the AP, configurator and the authenticator. The AP can use the context to create and transmit authentication authorization requests responsive to chirp signals. In some examples, a chirp table can be created by a configurator for tracking severing APs. The chirp table can be utilized in provisioning APs for future chirp signals as needed.

Mitigation of a denial of service attack in a device provisioning protocol (DPP) network

Examples provide new roaming test systems for network deployments that can be implemented remotely using a single physical AP. Examples achieve this elegant system by emulating a physical network deployment using a group of VAPs provisioned on the single physical AP (a VAP may refer to a logical or a virtual AP instance on a physical AP). Each VAP of CAP group may be configured to represent a physical AP of the physical network deployment (such a network deployment may be a prospective deployment or, an actual/set-up deployment). Examples can simulate/emulate a wireless client physically moving between physical APs of the network deployment by varying transmission power associated with each VAP as a function of time in a manner that mirrors how a wireless client would perceive transmission power varying for physical APs of the network deployment (represented by the VAPs) as the wireless client moves across the geographical site of the network deployment.

Single physical access point based roaming test system

Example implementations relate to connecting an IoT device to a wireless network using Device Provisioning Protocol (DPP). An authentication server receives a DPP network access authorization request including a connector identifier from an Access Point (AP) in communication with the IoT device. The connector identifier is a hash of the public network access key of the IoT device. If the connector identifier is valid, the authentication server determines a configurable policy from a set of configurable policies that is applicable to the IoT device. The authentication server transmits network permissions defined in the configurable policy to the AP. The IoT device is connected to the wireless network by the AP based on the network permissions.

Connecting internet of thing (IoT) devices to a wireless network

Examples described herein mitigate adjacent channel interference for dual radios of a network device. Examples described herein may associate, by a network device, a first client device with a first radio of the network device, associate, by the network device, a second client device with a second radio of the network device, determine that the first and second client devices are within a steering threshold, and based on the determination that the first and second client devices are within the steering threshold, steer, by the network device, the second client device from the second radio to the first radio. Examples described herein may communicate, using the first radio of the network device, with the first and second client devices.

Mitigating adjacent channel interference for a dual radio network device

Examples of techniques for dynamically controlling data bursts are described. In an example, an access point (AP) monitors a link quality between the AP and a client device associated with the AP. The AP determines a channel occupancy of a channel in which the AP is configured to operate. In response to determining that the channel occupancy is less than a channel busy threshold, the AP modifies a burst duration for traffic flow between the AP and the client device based on the link quality. The AP communicates with the client device using the channel for the modified burst duration.

Dynamic control of data bursts

Some examples of handling FTM requests comprises receiving a plurality of fine timing measurement (FTM) requests from a second network device over a first channel. Determining a channel traffic along the first channel. Adjusting a FTM response frequency based on the channel traffic. Responding based on the FTM response frequency, to a first number of FTM requests out of the plurality of FTM requests.

Systems and methods are provided for optimizing channel bandwidth while increasing downlink multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output (DL MU-MIMO) gain. Depending on the access point (AP) platform, for example, APs exhibit certain characteristics regarding DL MU-MIMO gain as a function of the number of DL MU-MIMO clients associated to the AP. Accordingly, APs can be configured to operate in accordance with an algorithm that checks the number of DL MU-MIMO capable clients are associated to an AP, and dynamically switch between single- and dual-radio modes of operation to take advantage of those DL MU-MIMO gains.
