A method may include obtaining acquired drilling parameter data regarding a drilling parameter in real-time during a drilling operation for a predetermined well. The method may include determining, based on a drilling cost model, first drilling cost data using the acquired drilling parameter data. The method may include determining whether the first drilling cost data satisfies a predetermined criterion. The method may include determining, in response determining that the first drilling cost data fails to satisfy the predetermined criterion, a replacement component for the drilling operation. The method may include determining, based on the drilling cost model, second drilling cost data based on using the replacement component for the drilling operation. The method may include transmitting a command to update the drilling operation by changing a drilling system to use the replacement component in response to determining that the second drilling cost data satisfies the predetermined criterion.

Method and system for determining a geologically-guided assessment for managing drilling

A system for monitoring downhole cement quality in a cased well includes an active acoustic source that generates acoustic waves, a distributed acoustic sensor, and a controller. The distributed acoustic sensor includes an optical fiber disposed on an outer surface of a casing of the cased well; a pulsed laser coupled to the optical fiber and that transmits pulses of laser light along the optical fiber; a sensor that detects light that is backscattered and reflected by the optical fiber; and a processor that controls the pulsed laser, receives signals from the sensor, and converts the signals into acoustic information. The controller receives the acoustic information from the processor and identifies well integrity loss.

Method and apparatus for continuously checking casing cement quality

Methods and systems for wellbore path planning are disclosed. The method includes defining total depth coordinates of a candidate wellbore path within a hydrocarbon reservoir, obtaining geoscience data for a subterranean region enclosing the hydrocarbon reservoir, and obtaining historical drilling data from an offset well in the subterranean region. The method further includes training a machine learning network to predict drilling hazard probabilities along the candidate wellbore path using the geoscience data and the historical drilling data. The method still further includes determining a first wellbore path to terminate at the total depth coordinates using the candidate wellbore path and the trained machine learning network.

Methods and systems for wellbore path planning

A method for an underground gas storage reservoir management may include obtaining feed from a domestic master gas system. The method further includes simultaneously injecting and reproducing in an underground gas storage via a plurality of dual producer and injector wells. A method of drilling includes obtaining historical data for historical wells in a field, determining a set of drilling parameters, and determining a set of hole section sizes defining a wellbore geometry. For each combination of a parameter in the set of parameters and a hole section size in the set of hole section sizes, historical wells having average values of the parameter exceeding a threshold for the hole section size from the historical surface drilling data are selected. An expected output for each of a model to be trained by each of the selected historical wells is derived based on a rate of penetration while drilling. A final model is trained with the selected historical wells and expected outputs. An operating envelope is determined for each of the parameters in the set of parameters from the trained model. The operating envelopes may be used to guide drilling of a well in the field.

Method and system of drilling with geologically-driven rate of penetration

Provided is a system for emplacing an electrically activated lost circulation material within a wellbore. The system may comprise a bottom hole assembly connected to a drill string, with an activation tool that may be provided along the bottom hole assembly. The system may comprise an activation tool with a non-conductive isolation sleeve having an inner bore, electrodes exposed to an outer surface of the isolation sleeve, conductive cables electrically connecting the electrodes to one of an anode terminal and a cathode terminal, and a seat extending into the inner bore. Further provided is a method for plugging a loss zone in a wellbore that may use at least one activation tool. The method may include circulating an electrically activated lost circulation material to the loss zone and delivering electricity from a power source to electrodes of the activation tool to solidify the electrically activated lost circulation material.

Method and apparatus to cure drilling losses with an electrically triggered lost circulation material

A method may include obtaining a plurality of historical drilling signals for a plurality of wells. At least one historical drilling signal among the plurality of historical drilling signals describes a drilling surface parameter that is measured during a respective drilling operation. The method may further include generating a first drilling signal while drilling a wellbore through a formation. The method may further include determining a first drilling correlation between the first drilling signal and the plurality of historical drilling signals. The method may further include determining a drilling hazard condition within a well path of the wellbore using the first drilling correlation. The method may further include adjusting, based on the drilling hazard condition, the well path of the wellbore.
