The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a low molecular weight silk fibroin and a cosmetically acceptable carrier; wherein said low molecular weight silk fibroin comprises at least 85 parts by weight peptides of molecular weight less than 2500 Da, where amino acid sequence of at least 50 wt % of said peptides is GAGY, GAGAGAGY, GAGVGAGY or AWSSESDF and where said silk fibroin is produced by a process comprising the steps of: (i) mixing an aqueous solution comprising 0.01 to 20 wt % of a high molecular weight silk fibroin of weight average molecular weight 6 to 100 KDa with ochymotrypsin at temperature of 25 to 45° C., under pH of 6 to 9 for 4 to 24 hours; where ratio of said high molecular weight silk fibroin to said ochymotrypsin in said solution is from 100:1 to 300:1 parts by weight: (ii) inactivating excess ochymotrypsin and separating the inactivated α-chymotrypsin from reaction mixture of step (i); and (ill) drying said reaction mixture to obtain said low molecular weight silk fibroin; wherein said composition comprises 0.1 to 10% by weight of the low molecular weight silk fibroin.

Cosmetic compositions comprising low molecular weight silk fibroin

The present invention is in the field of personal care compositions, in particular compositions comprising antiperspirant actives. The present invention more particularly relates to compositions which do not contain the conventional and well established aluminium based actives, yet exhibit similar efficacy. This is achieved through use of an active which is a complex of a zinc salt with a β amino acid in an anhydrous carrier.

A method of modifying the dispensing properties of a container, said method comprising the following steps: &#x22c5;providing a container comprising a container wall having an inner surface and a dispensing opening, said inner surface being composed of hydrophobic polymer; &#x22c5;subjecting the inner surface of the container to an oxidative surface treatment; &#x22c5;applying a coating layer onto the inner surface of the container by coating said inner surface with a coating solution containing amide slip agent selected from optionally fluorinated fatty acid amide, polysiloxane amide and combinations thereof; and &#x22c5;removing the solvent in the coating layer by evaporation.

Method of modifying the dispensing properties of a container

The present invention relates to a process for preparing an antimicrobial particulate composition. The invention also relates to personal care or hygiene composition comprising an antimicrobial particulate composition obtainable by the process in accordance with this invention. The invention more particularly relates to a process for preparing an antimicrobial metal nanoparticles immobilized in an inorganic porous material and also incorporating these particles in personal care or hygiene compositions. The antimicrobial particulate composition comprises 0.05% to 3% by weight of antimicrobial metal particles and 97 to 99.95% by weight of immobilizer comprising an inorganic porous material selected from zinc oxide, magnesium hydroxide or calcium carbonate.

Process for preparing an antimicrobial particulate composition

The present invention relates to surface modification of materials. In particular the invention relates to a process for surface modification of polymeric materials to make the surface non-stick in order to reduce the ability of materials to stick on it and thus provide an easy flow. The process comprises embossing the surface of an object with a pattern comprising micropillars having different shapes (circle, square, rectangular, polygonal prismatic) with an equivalent circular diameter, height and pitch in the range 10-200 microns; applying a layer of adhesive to get a coverage of 0.1 to 5 mg/cm on the embossed surface either by spray coating or dip coating; depositing 0.2 to 1.2 mg/cm of hydrophobic particles wherein the hydrophobic particles have a particle size in the range 0.1 to 10 microns.
