A device for monitoring a life condition of a spark igniter in a gas turbine ignition system. The device includes an evaluation circuit having circuit components that include a hold capacitor, a transistor, and an operational amplifier arranged to form a sample-and-hold circuit, wherein an igniter spark impulse signal is applied to an input node of the evaluation circuit causing the transistor to turn on and the hold capacitor to discharge for a duration of the igniter spark impulse signal, and wherein a discharged voltage at the hold capacitor is maintained and output by the operational amplifier, the discharged voltage representing the duration of the igniter spark impulse and indicating the life condition of the spark igniter.

A turbine power generation system with enhanced cooling provided by a stream of carbon dioxide from a carbon dioxide source and a method of using a stream of carbon dioxide to cool hot gas path components. The turbine power generating system includes a compressor, a combustor, a turbine, a generator, and at least one shaft linking the compressor and turbine and generator together such that mechanical energy produced from the turbine is used to drive the compressor and the generator. Carbon dioxide that is sequestered from the exhaust of the turbine may be stored and injected back into the turbine to cool hot gas path components of the turbine.

A gas turbine includes a compressor with a plurality of pressure plates, a combustor downstream from the compressor, and a turbine downstream from the combustor and axially aligned with the compressor. The combustor produces combustion gases that flow to the turbine. A first manifold connected to the combustor contains a first process gas for combustion in the combustor. A second manifold connected upstream of the turbine contains a second process gas, and a portion of the second process gas flows to the plurality of pressure plates.

This inlet system may take a variety of forms and may optimize the direction that the portion of the recirculated exhaust stream flows within the inlet system.

Inlet system for an EGR system

A portion of the exhaust generated by a turbomachine is recirculated through an inlet portion by an exhaust gas recirculation system. The system reduces the level of Sulfur Oxides and other constituents within the exhaust before the exhaust is recirculated. The system may utilize sea water, fresh water, or combinations thereof; as part of a scrubbing process to reduce the Sulfur Oxides and other constituents.
