Systems and relative method of monitoring the state of a subject's retinal disease employ remote based OCT imaging of a subject's retina. A method includes receiving optical coherence tomography (OCT) image data of a retina of a subject for each of a series of OCT imaging sessions of the retina. The OCT image data of the retina is processed to determine a series of measured extent values. Each of the one or more measured extent values is indicative of a respective extent of the retinal disease.

OCT guided therapy

An optical coherence tomography (OCT) system for imaging a retina applies a user specific focus correction to focus a sample arm light beam on the user's retina. An OCT image detector generates an OCT signal. A control unit monitors the OCT signal, controls a reference arm optical path length adjustment mechanism to identify a length of the reference arm optical path for which the OCT signal corresponds to an OCT image of the retina, and varies an operational parameter of the sample arm light beam focus mechanism over a range, while maintaining the length of the reference arm optical path for which the OCT signal corresponds to the OCT image of the retina, to identify a focus correction for the user, based on the OCT signal, for application to the sample arm light beam.

Home OCT with automatic focus adjustment

Ophthalmic imaging devices and related methods employ self-alignment of a user with an optical axis of the imaging device. An ophthalmic imaging device includes a retinal imaging assembly, a housing assembly, and a viewer assembly. The retinal imaging assembly has an optical axis. The retinal imaging assembly is attached to the housing. The housing assembly is configured to rest on a horizontal surface during operation of the retinal imaging assembly. The optical axis is oriented at an angle from the horizontal surface when the housing assembly rests on the horizontal surface. The viewer assembly is coupled with the housing assembly. The viewer assembly includes an interface surface shaped for engagement with each head of a plurality of different user's and to accommodate repositioning of the head to align a pupil of the user with the optical axis.

Retinal imaging device and related methods

Retinal imaging systems and related methods employ a user specific approach for controlling the reference arm length in an optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging device. A method includes generating a signal indicative of a position of a feature of a user's head relative to an OCT imaging device. A user specific reference arm adjustment length range for the user within a reference arm adjustment length range of the OCT device is determined based on the signal. A reference arm length adjustment module is controlled during an imaging of the retina to vary a reference arm length of the OCT imaging device within the user specific reference arm adjustment length range to identify an imaging reference arm length for which an OCT image detector of the OCT imaging device produces an OCT signal corresponding to the retina of the user.

Automatic optical path adjustment in home OCT

Ophthalmic imaging systems and related methods provide pseudo feedback to aid a user in aligning the user's eye with an optical axis of the imaging system. An ophthalmic imaging system includes an ophthalmic imaging device having an optical axis, a display device, an eye camera, and a control unit. The display device displays a fixation target viewable by the user. The eye camera images the eye to generate eye image data. The control unit processes the eye image data to determine a position of the eye relative to the optical axis, processes the position of the eye relative to the optical axis to generate a pseudo position of the eye relative to the optical axis, and causes the display device to display an indication that provides feedback to the user that the eye is located at the pseudo position of the eye relative to the optical axis.

Methods and systems for alignment of ophthalmic imaging devices

Retinal imaging systems and related methods employ a user specific approach for controlling the reference arm length in an optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging device. A method includes restraining a user's head relative to an OCT imaging device. A reference arm length adjustment module is controlled to vary a reference arm length to search a user specific range of reference arm lengths to identify a reference arm length for which the OCT image detector produces an OCT signal corresponding to the retina of the user. The user specific range of reference arm lengths covers a smaller range of reference arm lengths than a reference arm length adjustment range of the reference arm length adjustment module.

Ophthalmic imaging devices and related methods employ self-alignment of a user with an optical axis of the imaging device. An ophthalmic imaging device includes an imaging assembly having an optical axis, a housing assembly, and a viewer assembly. The housing assembly is configured to rest on a horizontal surface during operation of the imaging assembly. The optical axis is oriented at an angle from 45 degrees to 85 degrees from the horizontal surface. The viewer assembly includes an interface surface shaped to engage a user's head to stabilize a position and an orientation of the user's head relative to the optical axis. The viewer assembly accommodates different positions and/or orientations of the user's head relative to the optical axis so as to enable alignment, by the user, of one of the user's eyes with the optical axis.

A swallowable in-vivo device comprising a shell formed with at least one inlet extending across a shell wall and configured for allowing ingress of fluid at least into the shell; the shell accommodates therein a lateral flow (LF) arrangement configured for absorbing the fluid; the LF arrangement comprises a test zone configured for coming into contact, in-vivo, with a predetermined N substance present in the fluid or a compound comprising the substance, thereby causing a change in at least one property of the test zone; the shell further accommodates a sensor configured for sensing, in-vivo, the at least one property, at least when changed by interaction with the fluid; the LF arrangement has at least one curved segment, and at least one exposure portion juxtaposed with the inlet, configured for absorbing the fluid passing through the inlet into the shell.

Devices, systems and methods for in-vivo immunoassay

In-vivo devices, systems and methods for the detection of blood within in-vivo bodily fluids. The methods include irradiating in-vivo fluids passing through a gap in a housing of an in-vivo device introduced to the GI tract of a subject with a plurality of illumination sources positioned on a first side of a gap; detecting with at least one light detector positioned on the opposite side of the gap and facing the illumination sources, light irradiated by the illumination sources; transmitting a plurality of values representing the light detected over time; converting these values to blood concentration values over time, and comparing the blood concentration values to a predetermined threshold value. Based on the comparison, the method includes determining the type of bleeding profile, such that if a plurality of blood concentration values measured consecutively is above the threshold value, the bleeding profile indicates bleeding.

Device, system and method for in-vivo detection of bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract
