An electronic device included a first energy storage device coupled to a second energy storage device by a conductor. A thermal mitigation circuit, or alternatively, one or more processors, determine whether to draw more current from the first energy storage device or the second energy storage device as a function of a geometric configuration of the electronic device and a support condition of the electronic device. Current can be drawn from the second energy storage device situated in the second device housing, for example, when the electronic device is hand supported by the first device housing unless secondary factors exist. When charging states of the first energy storage device and/or second energy storage device are too low to do this, the one or more processors can present a prompt on the user interface instructing the user to turn the device over.

Presentation of the virtual typing sheet and the top horizontal row at the corresponding line spacing are upwardly adjusted to insert a new lateral row for presenting keystrokes.

A method provides techniques for detecting, by a controller of an electronic device, where the electronic device comprises a device housing, a blade assembly carrying a blade and a flexible display and slidably coupled to the device housing, a translation mechanism operable to slide the blade assembly relative to the device housing to a plurality of positions between an extended position and a retracted position, and the controller communicatively coupled to the blade assembly and the translation mechanism, a force event acting on the translation mechanism. The method further includes detecting a force direction associated with the force event, and performing at least one action on the electronic device in response to detecting the force event and the associated force direction.

The mobile device includes an earpiece that emanates audio during a voice call, and the earpiece is integrated with the rollable display screen and/or the slidable display mount. The mobile device implements a configuration manager that initiates the slidable display mount for configuration of the rollable display screen to movably position the earpiece during the voice call, such as relative to a mouthpiece of the mobile device.

The electronic device monitors execution of a media application that accesses remote media content and performs content recognition to identify object(s) contained in the remote media content. In response to determining that remote media content contains object(s) that is also identified in the local media content, stores the remote media content in a data structure in memory. The electronic device uploads, via a communication network to a network storage service, all media content stored in the data structure.

Techniques for screenshot capture based on content type are described and are implementable to enable a screenshot of content displayed on a device to be captured based on a content type for the content. The described implementations, for instance, automatically determine a content type for content displayed on a device and capture a screenshot based on the content type, such as whether the content represents static content or dynamic content. Further, implementations enable a query to be utilized to determine whether to generate one or more of a static screenshot of visual content or a dynamic screenshot of visual content.

A method provides techniques for display configuration determination for connected display devices. The method includes connecting, by a processor of an electronic device, to an external display. The method further includes determining a display size for the external display, and determining a display category for the external display, based at least in part, on the display size. The method further includes configuring, based on the display category, content presented for consumption via the display, where at least one display characteristic of the content can be modified for optimal presentation on the display.

An electronic device includes a blade assembly with a flexible display and a translation mechanism that adjusts the movement of the blade assembly based on user input. The device detects user input and translates the blade assembly at varying speeds depending on the category of user input. Initial translation speeds are set based on the frequency of interaction and the user's familiarity with the device, with slower speeds for new or infrequent users and faster speeds for seasoned or frequent users. The translation speed increases as the device receives subsequent user inputs, adapting to the user's learning curve. The device also includes one or more processors that modify the translation speed in response to the level of friction applied to the blade assembly. Additionally, the device may comprise sensors to identify the source of user input, further tailoring the translation speed to the user's interaction patterns.
