Wi-Fi access point performance management may include receiving a session analytic record related to a plurality of wireless access points, and analyzing the session analytic record related to the plurality of wireless access points to determine a root cause of at least one malfunctioning node related to at least one of the plurality of wireless access points, and predict failure of the at least one of the plurality of wireless access points. Further, a graphical user interface display or a report may be generated. The graphical user interface display or the report may be related to the determination of the root cause of the at least one malfunctioning node related to the at least one of the plurality of wireless access points, and prediction of the failure of the at least one of the plurality of wireless access points.

Methods and systems for detecting expiration time of an article include receiving the article for a pre-planned event. The article is analyzed to identify one or more attributes. The article is matched to an event identifier using the article attributes. The event identifier is pre-defined and stored in an event database. The event identifier acts as an index to the event database for obtaining event characteristics of the pre-planned event. The article attributes are examined to identify event phase indicators that correlate to a specific event phase of the pre-planned event. The expiration time of the article is computed based on the specific event phase identified for the pre-planned event. The expiration time is used to rank the article and for considering assigning the article to a content pool of articles that is selected for publishing for the specific event phase of the pre-planned event.

Automatic detection of expiration time of event-based articles

Polypyrrole/carbon (PPy/C) composite doped with organic anion p-toluenesulfonate (pTS) is utilized as an electrode in supercapacitor for energy storage application. The surface initiated in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization yields a composite material PPy/C in the presence of varying concentrations of pTS. The novelty of the present invention lies in the doping of PPy/C composite with organic anion pTS and consequent enhancement of its electrochemical activity and stability. The conjugation length and electrical conductivity of pTS doped PPy/C composites increase with the increase in dopant concentration. The pTS doped PPy/C composite synthesized using equimolar concentration (0.1 M) of pTS to pyrrole shows the maximum specific capacitance of &#x2dc;395 F/g in 0.5 M NaSOaqueous solution with significant stability &#x2dc;95% capacitance retention after &#x2dc;500 cycles.

Wireless stations (and their associated operation) making up a static, multi-hop wireless network are simplified because topological modeling and routing/scheduling decisions are shifted from the stations to a controller external to the network. The controller may determine routing paths and schedules for each of the wireless stations in a network based on the topology of a given network along with other network characteristics. Thereafter, the so-determined paths and schedules are sent to the associated wireless stations. By simplifying the operation of a wireless station, the amount of energy required to be used by each station may be reduced thereby maximizing the lifetime of the network.

Novel, computationally efficient schemes for deterministic wavelet thresholding with the objective of optimizing maximum-error metrics are provided. An optimal low polynomial-time algorithm for one-dimensional wavelet thresholding based on a new dynamic-programming (DP) formulation is provided that can be employed to minimize the maximum relative or absolute error in the data reconstruction. Directly extending a one-dimensional DP algorithm to multi-dimensional wavelets results in a super-exponential increase in time complexity with the data dimensionality. Thus, novel, polynomial-time approximation schemes (with tunable approximation guarantees for the target maximum-error metric) for deterministic wavelet thresholding in multiple dimensions are also provided.

A fixed stack process for routing packets on a tree, given a target stack depth, s, initially identifies a subset, S, of at nodes from the tree, such as at most 3 nnodes, such that after the subset, S, is removed, each remaining subtree has at most nnodes. A unique label is assigned to each of the nodes in the subset S and, within each remaining subtree, one of up to nlabels is assigned to each node. If the bound on the stack depth cannot be violated, the fixed stack routing process merges every two consecutive levels in the stack to one level.

Systems and method for selecting open shortest path first (OSPF) aggregates and aggregate weights for a particular area. In one embodiment, an aggregate selecting system includes: (1) a database for containing data pertaining to candidate OSPF aggregates and corresponding weights and (2) an aggregate selector, associated with the database, that selects at least a subset of the OSPF aggregates such that the shortest path length between the particular source and destination subnets resulting from advertisement of a set of weighted aggregates approaches the shortest path length between the particular source and destination subnets irrespective of the advertisement. In one embodiment, a weight selection system includes: (1) a database for containing data pertaining to candidate OSPF aggregates and (2) a weight assigner, associated with the database, that assigns, for the OSPF aggregates, weights based on either an average distance of subnets in the area for a particular area border router (ABR) of the area or a search heuristic.
