A collapsible link device includes a side frame, a carrier, a main contact arm, a plurality of collapsible links, and a release mechanism. The carrier is pivotably coupled to the side frame. The main contact arm is pivotably coupled to the carrier and includes a first end including a first electrical contact. The plurality of collapsible links are pivotably coupled to the side frame and the carrier. The release mechanism is pivotably coupled to at least one of the collapsible links and the carrier. The plurality of collapsible links are movable between an uncollapsed position in which the first electrical contact contacts a second electrical contact and a collapsed position that results from the first electrical contact separating from the second electrical contact.

A circuit breaker including a case, a trip mechanism, and a trip lever moveable between a first position and a second position. The trip lever includes a first end selectively contacting the trip mechanism and a second end opposite the first end. The circuit breaker also includes a biasing device including a housing coupled to the case and a lever arm coupled to the housing. The lever arm includes an engagement surface in contact with the second end and configured to move between an initial position corresponding to the first position and a final position corresponding to the second position. The biasing device also includes a bias member extending between the housing and the lever arm and biasing the engagement surface against the second end. The lever arm exerts a first torque in the first position and exerts a second torque different from the first torque in the second position.

A circuit breaker includes an electrically insulative case and a rotor assembly disposed within the electrically insulative case. The rotor assembly includes a contact arm and a rotor that is rotatable relative to the electrically insulative case. The contact arm is coupled to the rotor and movable between a first position in which a conductive path is closed and a second position in which the conductive path is open. The rotor assembly also includes a latch mechanism coupled to the rotor. The latch mechanism retains the contact arm in the second position during a short circuit event. The latch mechanism is spaced from the contact arm when the contact arm is in the first position. The latch mechanism engages the contact arm when the contact arm is in the second position.

A circuit breaker includes a housing, a stationary pole member fixedly mounted in the housing, a moveable pole member shiftably mounted within the housing, and a drive shaft mounted to the housing and operatively connected to the moveable pole member. An inertia latch stop member is mounted to the housing adjacent the drive shaft and an inertia latch is operatively connected to the drive shaft. The inertia latch is configured and disposed to extend from the drive shaft and engage the inertia latch stop member in response to a change in direction of rotation of the drive shaft from an opening direction to a closing direction following a trip event.

A flux shifter for a circuit protection device including a trip mechanism includes a trip arm and a pin assembly. The pin assembly includes a pin, a biasing member positioned proximate to the pin, and a latch coupled to the pin and to the biasing member. The pin assembly is configured to enable the trip arm to rotate into an engagement with the trip mechanism when the flux shifter enters a trip state and to prevent the trip arm from rotating into the engagement with the trip mechanism when the flux shifter is in one of an operational state and a reset state.
