The present invention discloses methods and systems face recognition. Face recognition involves receiving an image/frame, detecting one or more faces in the image, detecting feature points for each of the detected faces in the image, aligning and normalizing the detected feature points, extracting feature descriptors based on the detected feature points and matching the extracted feature descriptors with a set of pre-stored images for face recognition.

The present invention discloses methods, systems and computer programmable products for detecting license plates and recognizing characters in the license plates. The system receives an image and identifies one or more regions including a license plate. A method for assisting evaluation of anomalies in a distributed storage system is disclosed. The method includes a step of monitoring at least one system metric of the distributed storage system. The method further includes steps of maintaining a listing of patterns of the monitored system metric comprising patterns which previously did not result in a failure within one or more nodes of the distributed storage system, and, based on the monitoring, identifying a pattern (i.e., a time series motif) of the monitored system metric as a potential anomaly in the distributed storage system. The method also includes steps of automatically (i.e. without user input) performing a similarity search to determine whether the identified pattern satisfies one or more predefined similarity criteria with at least one pattern of the listing, and, upon positive determination, excepting the identified pattern from being identified as the potential anomaly.

Mechanisms for reducing the number of block masks required for programming multiple access control lists in an associative memory are disclosed. A combined ordering of masks corresponding to multiple access control lists (ACLs) is typically identified, with the multiple ACLs including n ACLs. An n-dimensional array is generated, wherein each axis of the n-dimensional array corresponds to masks in their requisite order of a different one of the multiple ACLs. The n-dimensional array progressively identifies numbers of different masks required for subset orderings of masks required for subsets of the multiple ACLs. The n-dimensional array is traversed to identify a sequence of masks corresponding to a single ordering of masks including masks required for each of the multiple ACLs.
