A printing device includes a print blanket to transfer an ink image onto print media on an impression drum. Responsive to receiving a null cycle trigger during printing, the impression drum is repositioned to a null position to reduce contact between a print blanket and the impression drum.

According to examples, a method comprises receiving, at a processor, print job data relating to a print job to be performed by a print apparatus, the print job data defining order in which a plurality of colour separation images are to be transferred onto an imaging surface of the print apparatus. The method may comprise determining, based on the print job data, a number of null segments to be inserted into the print job and a location at which each null segment is to be inserted amongst the plurality of colour separation images. A print apparatus and a machine-readable machine are also disclosed.

In an example, a method of wetting a print blanket includes receiving a null cycle trigger during a printing session. The method also includes maintaining printing voltages on a forecast BID (binary ink developer) that has been prepared to print a next color separation onto a photoreceptor, and applying wet null voltages to a non-forecast BID. The method then includes engaging the non-forecast BID with the photoreceptor to transfer fluid other than ink to the photoreceptor during the null cycle.

The invention relates to a liquid toner and imaging apparatus provided with an imaging surface having a liquid toner image formed thereon on fibrous toner particles and carrier liquid. The fibrous toner particles can be composed of a polymer portion and pigment dispersed therein, where the polymer portion comprises a surface of the fibrous toner particles and is insoluble in the carrier liquid at temperatures below 40&#xb0; C., so that the polymer portion will not dissolve or solvate in storage. The polymer portion also is solvatable by the carrier liquid only at temperatures above 50&#xb0; C. The carrier liquid has, as a major component, first liquid hydrocarbon having a first rate of evaporation, and, as a minor component, second liquid hydrocarbon having a second rate of evaporation which, at room temperature, is at least an order of magnitude less than the first rate of evaporation.

A method of maintaining at least one writing parameter within a range during printing in a liquid toner printing system, comprising: setting an acceptable range for the at least one writing parameter; and, determining if the at least one writing parameter is within the range; wherein if the at least one writing parameter is not within the range, the method further comprises calculating a target conductivity for liquid toner used in the printer, corresponding to a value within the writing parameter range and moving the liquid toner conductivity towards the target conductivity.
