An ink cartridge is provided which includes a rigid housing and a flexible ink storage bag inserted within the housing. The storage bag, which is connectable to the ink supply line of a printer by a hollow needle, is impenetrable by the needle or similar when the storage bag is depleted of ink.

Ink cartridge

A device and a method arc disclosed for indicating the reaching of a temperature within a predetermined temperature range by heated food. The device includes a transparent sealed container including a first compartment containing a first substance and a second compartment containing a second substance. The first compartment is separated from the second compartment by a meltable sealant having a melting point within the predetermined temperature range. The device is partially or fully immersed in the heated food and on reaching a temperature within the predetermined temperature range, the meltable sealant melts enabling the first substance to contact the second substance. The contact between the first substance and the second substance results in a detectable change such as a color change of at least one of the first substance and the second substance. The color change is visibly detectable through the transparent sealed container. The device can be made in a variety of shapes and may include an elongated member attached to the sealed container for facilitating the placing of the device within the food.

Indicator for proper heating of food and a method for constructing thereof

A device and a method are disclosed for indicating the reaching of a temperature within a predetermined temperature range by heated food. The device includes a transparent sealed container including a first compartment containing a first substance and a second compartment containing a second substance. The first compartment is separated from the second compartment by a meltable sealant having a melting point within the determined temperature range. The device is partially or fully immersed in the heated food and on reaching a temperature within the predetermined temperature range, the meltable sealant melts enabling the first substance to contact the second substance. The contact between the first substance and the second substance results in a detectable change such as a color change of at least one the first substance and the second substance. The color change is visibly detectable through the transparent sealed container. The device can be made in a variety of shapes and may include an elongated member attached to the sealed container for facilitating the placing of the device within the food.

A method and apparatus for selecting and storing script characters, particularly Chinese, in a computerized system containing a memory wherein is stored a database of such script characters. The database may be augmented by a user and is indexed according to the phonetic and graphic attributes of the script characters therein, so that by specifying at least one attribute, all characters in the database having the specified attribute may be identified. In a preferred embodiment only a few identified characters are displayed, and more attributes are specified by the user until the desired character is displayed. The apparatus includes a high resolution display monitor for displaying the characters and a specially adapted light pen provided with at least two selection switches for selecting a desired character or, alternatively, for displaying further identified characters according to which selection switch is operated.

Method and apparatus for selecting, storing and displaying chinese

The present invention relates to apparatus for use with a telephone system having a plurality of stations each of which becomes active when the station goes off-hook and one of a plurality of keys at the station is actuated for selecting one of a plurality of outside central office (CO) lines connected to the stations through a key service unit (KSU). The apparatus of the present invention comprises a station control unit (SCU) associated with each station for connecting the same to the KSU; and a main control unit (MCU) by which the KSU is connected to the outside CO lines. The MCU comprises a microprocessor operated central control; and a multistate line control unit (LCU) operatively associated with each outside CO line for connecting each station in parallel to the selected CO line and/or to the central control in accordance with the state of the LCU operatively associated with the selected CO line. The present invention provides for effecting addressing between the MCU and the SCU's and for controlling the state of the LCU's as a consequence of such addressing when the MCU is operative such that the MCU manages connections of the system to the CO lines and signalling between the stations according to a predetermined plan contained in the control unit. With the arrangement described above, the MCU intercepts and controls internal dialing from the stations of the system selectively controlling, for example, access of the stations, or individuals using the system, to the CO lines.

Apparatus for enhancing the use of electromechanical key telephone

A disposable electrode comprising an annulus of foam, a substantially uniform electrode gel in a central region of the annulus, a conductive layer in the electrode gel and making electrical contact with it, and a cap over the conductive layer, electrode gel and annulus of foam. The electrode is made in a plastic tray by placing said annulus in a recess in the tray, placing the conductive layer on the annulus, pouring hot electrode gel into the center region of the annulus, covering the gel with the cap and covering the tray with a sheet whcih is heat sealed to the tray with the electrode inside.

Stable gel electrode

A disposable electrode comprising an annulus of foam, a substantially uniform electrode gel in a central region of the annulus, a conductive layer in the electrode gel and making electrical contact with it, and a cap over the conductive layer, electrode gel and annulus of foam. The electrode is made in a plastic tray by placing said annulus in a recess in the tray, placing the conductive layer on the annulus, pouring hot electrode gel into the center region of the annulus, covering the gel with the cap and covering the tray with a sheet which is heat sealed to the tray with the electrode inside.

Method for manufacturing a disposable electrode

A portable alarm embodying a plurality of actuatable warning devices, a clock generator for generating time signals and a selector for receiving a plurality of the time signal outputs, each corresponding to different times, and utilizing the selected time signal outputs along with a stored activation schedule to actuate selected warning devices. In a preferred embodiment, the portable alarm contains medicine storage means and the actuatable warning devices are visual indicators which indicate a particular medicine to be taken.
