A firearm with tilting barrel-receiver assembly. In one embodiment, the firearm includes a frame and a barrel-receiver assembly pivotably mounted to the frame. The barrel-receiver assembly is movable between an open position and a closed position. A latching mechanism may include a slide plate configured to selectively engage the frame. The latching mechanism is movable between a locked position wherein the barrel-receiver assembly is held in the closed position by the slide plate and an unlocked position wherein the barrel-receiver assembly is movable to the tilted open position. The slide plate may be spring biased into the locked position. An actuator button cooperates with the slide plate for moving the latching mechanism between the locked and unlocked positions.

Firearm with pivoting barrel-receiver assembly

A firearm with slide takedown mechanism and method for use is disclosed. In one embodiment, the firearm includes a frame, barrel, trigger and a reciprocating slide. A takedown lever is pivotably mounted to the firearm and engageable with the slide. In a first blocking position, the takedown lever engages and blocks the rearward path of the slide which is not movable beyond a first position. In a second unblocking position, the takedown lever is pivoted laterally outwards from the frame and disengages the slide. The rearward path of the slide is no longer blocked which may be moved to a second rearward removal position enabling a user to remove the slide and field strip the firearm. In one embodiment, the takedown lever is disposed underneath the frame. The firearm may be a semi-automatic pistol in some embodiments.

Slide takedown system and method for firearm

An interchangeable barrel system and related method for a pistol includes a barrel insert having an anti-rotation protrusion and a receiver having a complementary configured socket configured for receiving the protrusion. An embodiment of a barrel insert includes a chamber for holding a cartridge and a locking mechanism configured for releasably securing the barrel insert to the receiver. In some embodiments, the locking mechanism comprises a threaded engagement between the barrel insert and receiver. The system allows barrel inserts of different calibers, configurations, and materials to be swapped with the receiver, and vice-versa.
