A system and method for 5G new radio (NR) low-density low density parity check (LDPC) decoding comprising performing a Fast Fourier Transform using a Fast Fourier Transform algorithm. The system and method determines if a reference sequence is present and performing a channel estimate and a channel interpolate for the channel estimate if the reference sequence is present. The system and method demodulates at least one orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol according to r*conj(H)/(norm(H)+Noise_Power). The system and method decodes the demodulated at least one orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol, and determines if the decoded at least one orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol is correct.

Method for 5G NR low-density parity-check decoding

Embodiments disclosed herein include systems and methods for locating all synchronization signal blocks on a 5G new radio channel. Such systems and methods can include measuring downlink signal energy over a bandwidth of the 5G new radio channel to identify a center frequency of a signal broadcast on the 5G new radio channel, processing the signal at the center frequency of the signal to identify a first of a plurality of synchronization signal blocks and global OFDM symbol boundaries for the wireless radio channel, and using the global OFDM symbol boundaries for all raster frequencies of the 5G new radio channel to identify remaining ones of the plurality of synchronization signal blocks.

A system and method for SSS detection under carrier frequency offset in an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) downlink channel. A processor receives a signal sample that includes a transmission on a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a transmission on a one secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The processor determines a correlation 'P' of a first symbol transmitted in the PSS of the signal sample to a first known symbol at each time 't' of time increments k of the signal sample and a correlation &#x201c;S&#x201d; of a second symbol transmitted in the a SSS to a second known symbol at each time t-.5/7 msecs. The processor receives a candidate phase rotation of &#x3b8;from a set of &#x201c;i&#x201d; candidates and determines a correlation &#x201c;Cmax&#x201d; over the time increments k representing a maximum amplitude of a combined correlation of S and P, with P rotated by &#x3b8;. The processor determines the cell identifier from the first and second known symbols that produced S and P of C max and an estimation of the frequency offset between a transmitter of the signal sample and a receiver of the signal sample.

System and method for SSS detection under carrier frequency offset in an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access downlink channel

An improved apparatus (and corresponding methodology) for discovering beacon signals in a spread spectrum radio communication system is provided, wherein the beacon signals comprise a plurality of different code sequences having index values assigned thereto and having portions that overlap one another. Correlation is performed over an extended search window. Ambiguities between correlation peaks are resolved by identifying correlation peak pairs corresponding to overlapping code sequences and having time offsets that fall within a predetermined tolerance window. Each pair is analyzed to identify the peak with a lower power level metric, and information pertaining to this lower power level peak is discarded from output and processing operations that follow therefrom.

Method and apparatus for beacon discovery in a spread spectrum cellular radio communication system

An apparatus (and corresponding methodology) for discovering beacon signals in a spread spectrum radio communication system is selectively operable in one of two modes. The first mode employs a local reference timing signal, while the second mode employs a GPS-derived reference timing signal. Preferably, the first mode identifies a baseline beacon signal that satisfies a constraint based upon time delays for detected beacon signals which are indicative of the relative distance of the transmitting base stations, thus providing selection of a baseline beacon signal that originates from a relatively close base station. The index of the baseline beacon signal is recovered and then used together with relative timing derived from the local reference timing signal to assign indices to other detected beacon signals. In another aspect, control means is provided for selectively switching between the first and second modes in accordance with a plurality of user-selectable modes, which preferably include a GPS-priority mode (whereby the control means automatically switches between the first and second modes based upon GPS signal receive status) and an Indoor mode (whereby the control means operates in the first mode irrespective of GPS signal receive status).
