A transmitter may inductively transfer power to a device via a relay. The transmitter may comprise circuitry configured to measure a current or voltage and reconfigure the transmitter with an operating frequency or duty cycle based on a measured change in the current or voltage within a time period. The measured change in the current or voltage within the time period may be caused by a removal of the device or an addition of a new device. The time period may be 200 usec or less.

System for wireless power charging

A system for wirelessly charging, via a medium, a device having a receiver coil comprises at least one relay configured to inductively transfer power to the receiver coil of the device and a transmitter configured to inductively transmit, to the at least one relay, power for charging the device. A joint resonance frequencies of a transmitter resonance circuit and a relay resonance circuit have a main resonance frequency (MRF). The transmitter is configured to operate at an operational frequency (OPF) from a range of OPFs. The range of OPFs is different than the MRF. The at least one relay comprises a second relay coil connected in series to the first relay coil. One side of the second relay coil faces the device and a second side of the second relay coil is covered by a relay ferrite layer. The second relay coil is smaller than the first relay coil.

According to one aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a receiver inductively powered by a transmitter for powering a load, the receiver comprising: a resonance circuit capable of tuning its resonance frequency for coupling with the transmitter and generate AC voltage; a power supply section configured to rectify the AC voltage and adjust a DC current and a DC voltage to the load; and a control and communication section designed to set parameters for the receiver and communicate operation points (OP) to the transmitter, wherein the parameters and the OP derived from determining a minimal power loss of the receiver.

Wireless power receiver having transfer optimization and method thereof

According to a first aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a system for managing inductive charging of at least one device, the system comprising: at least one venue comprising: a plurality of charging spots each of which comprises a dedicated Bluetooth low energy (BLE) transceiver designed to enable communication between charging spots of the plurality of charging spots, wherein at least one charging spot of the plurality of charging spots is capable of being configured as a relay; at least one gateway comprising a BLE transceiver; wherein the gateway is capable of communicating, by its BLE transceiver, with each charging spot either directly or indirectly via the relay; and a cloud computing server configured to provide services to the at least one venue; and wherein the CCS is connected with at least one venue via the Internet.

Wireless charging management system

According to a first aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a system for wirelessly charging a device by a transmitter capable of receiving messages from a device, the system comprising: a configurable driver for inductively transfer power level for charging the device; a controller configured to control the driver and continuously measuring currents and voltages of the transmitter while the charging, wherein the control is tuning the power level by reconfiguring the driver with parameters selected from a group consisting of operating frequency; duty cycle; amplitude; and any combination thereof, based on the measuring indicating a power level deviation or resetting another power level based on messages.

According to a first aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a dynamic calibration method in a system comprising a relay, having a coil, adapted to inductively transfer power for charging a device and a transmitter, having a coil and a controller configured to inductively transmit to the relay the power for charging the device, wherein the transmitter and the relay are separated by a medium, the method comprising: determining operating parameters selected from a group consisting of minimal and maximal operating frequency; direction of power increase relative to operating frequency; minimal and maximal duty cycle; minimal and maximal operating amplitude; and any combination thereof; wherein the operating parameters and a ping frequency are determined based on dynamic measurements of the transmitter operation and calculations executed by the controller during the calibration.

According to a first aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a method for foreign object detection in a system having a relay adapted to inductively transfer power for charging a device and a transmitter having a controller configured to inductively transmit to the relay the power for charging the device, wherein the transmitter and the relay are separated by a medium, wherein the controller is capable of communicating with the device, the method comprising operations by the controller: determining power consumed by the transmitter; determining power loss on the transmitter according to continuous measurements of AC output current; obtaining coupling factor between the transmitter and the relay; determining power loss on the relay based on continuous measurements of AC output current and coupling factor; subtracting from the power consumed by the transmitter the power loss on the transmitter and power loss on the relay; obtaining from the device consumed power of the device; comparing a result of the subtracting to the  consumed power of the device; determining foreign object presence.

According to a first aspect of the present disclosed subject matter, a system for wirelessly charging a device, having a built-in coil, via a medium comprising: at least one relay adapted to inductively transfer power for charging the device; and a transmitter configured to inductively transmit to the at least one relay the power for charging the device, wherein the transmitter and the relay are separated by the medium and wherein the relay and the transmitter substantially face each other; wherein the transmitter further comprises a transmitter coil and a transmitter capacitor constituting a transmitter resonance circuit, wherein the relay further comprises a relay coil and a relay capacitor constituting a relay resonance circuit, and wherein a joint resonance frequencies (JRF) of both resonance circuits have a main resonance frequency (MRF); and wherein the transmitter operates at an operational frequency (OPF) selected from a range of OPFs, wherein the range of OPFs is substantially different than the MRF.

The disclosure relates to systems and methods for managing a wireless powering system for power transfer to electrical devices, providing central management console through a communication network. The wireless powering system comprising at least one wireless power outlet with an integrated communication module and at least one management server and is further operable is further operable to provide location based services when coupled with a software application. The management system, of the current disclosure, is enabling remote health check and maintenance of all of wireless power outlets within the network. Further, the management system allows for complete monitoring of a deployment according to system administrator rights and policy management coupled with command and control functioning to determine allowed/disallowed functionality while transferring powering to an electrical device in a specific venue.

System and methods of centrally managing a wireless power outlet for powering electrical devices

Aspects of the present invention relates to providing devices, a system and method for controlling wireless power transfer across an inductive power coupling. The system, particularly, relates to enabling selection of a wireless power outlet of a multi-outlet power transmission surface closest to the location of a power receiver connected to an electric load and placed upon the surface. Accordingly, the multi-outlet power transmission surface comprising two sub-systems, a power transmission system and a signal transfer system, each operable independently and continuously. Further, the signal transfer system controls the activation of wireless power, configured to analyze the signal-quality of each detected communication signal received from a power receiver and thereby to identify the wireless power outlet closest to the location of the power receiver.
