A system addresses a security vulnerability in sending commands to a vehicle tracking device via SMS text messaging. The system provides a single-use credential value for authenticating the SMS communication link before it can be used to command the vehicle tracking device. The single-use credential value, also referred to herein as a One-Time Personal Identification Number (OTPIN), is preferably time-based so that it can be used only once.

A method for monitoring automatic mechanical devices selected from at least one of automatic doors and automatic dock equipment located at a commercial site. The method may include installing, at the commercial site, a plurality of internet-of-things (IoT) monitoring devices. Each of the IoT monitoring devices may include a plurality of connectors corresponding to respective data communication standards, and a wireless transceiver configured to transmit operational information. Electronic communication between each automatic mechanical device and one of the IoT monitoring devices may be established via one of the connectors. A device profile may be assigned for each of the automatic mechanical devices. Each device profiles defines a respective connector and combination of manufacturer and device model. Data reflecting operational events and states of the automatic mechanical devices is received over the connectors, and corresponding operational information relating to the automatic mechanical devices is transmitted for analysis.

Systems and methods for door and dock equipment servicing

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for expanding a row or column in an existing report, sourced from a relational database, where a column or row, respectively, of an opposite axis has already been expanded. Such a need often arises in reports sourced from a SQL database, and overcomes the storage-draining need to pre-compute all possible arrangements of data from the database prior to displaying the report. In some embodiments, a client can make a request for a multi-axis expansion, and a server can create filters for use in sub queries, one for each level of expansion in an axis of the report opposite to the axis where expansion is requested, the sub queries can be executed, results sets can be combined/formatted to form a new report, and the new report can be returned to the client for stitching into the existing report.
