Elevator door coupling systems are described. The systems include a car door lock having a coupling element and a lock element, the lock element operably connected to a latch for locking the car door lock and a landing door lock having a movable plate, a first contact element mounted to the movable plate and configured to engage with the coupling element and a second contact element configured to engage with the lock element. In operation, the coupling element is operable to apply force to the first contact element and cause the movable plate to rotate and as the movable plate rotates, the second contact element applies force to the lock element to urge the latch from a locked position to an unlocked position.

An elevator car door system is provided, the system including an elevator car door panel () having a first retention member () and a suspension () having a second retention member () configured to releasably engage with the first retention member () to retain the elevator car door panel () in a first position. The elevator car door panel () is movable relative to the suspension () to a second position, wherein the second position is configured to enable the elevator car door panel () to be removed from the suspension ().

A tool for adjusting landing door locks in an elevator shaft is provided. The tool includes a first part that is adjustable in length and configured to be mounted in an elevator door opening and a second part movably attached to the first part and configured to simulate an elevator door coupling, the second part moveable along the length of the first part.

Apparatus and method for adjusting landing door locks from inside an elevator car

An elevator door assembly includes car and hoistway door subassemblies. The car door subassembly includes: a car door, a door mover, and first and second vanes supported for movement relative to the car door. The hoistway door subassembly includes: a hoistway door; a locking member that selectively locks the hoistway door; and a coupler member associated with the locking member. When the car door is adjacent the hoistway door: the first vane moves into contact with the coupler member and causes the locking member to move into an unlocked position, prior to movement of the car and hoistway doors; and the second vane is retained in a non-blocking position by the coupler member. When the car door is not adjacent the hoistway door, movement of the car door toward the open position moves the second vane into a blocking position in which further movement of the car door is inhibited.

The invention is relating to a coupling device for elevator car () and landing doors of the kind comprising moving cams () integral with the car door () and driving the landing door in front of a story landing by means of a coupling plate integral therewith and engaging with the cams (), locking it mechanically and electrically upon door closure to allow the subsequent drive of the car, wherein said cams () are movably mounted with a variable distance from each other on the car door (), independently from the car door drive belt (), and a part () is provided to drive the cams () with a variable distance, which part () is mounted on the car door () and connected to the drive belt () and to one of the cams () to drive it towards and away from the other cam () with a large displacement relative to a small overtravel drive of the belt (), in order to respectively allow to unlock the coupling plate and its landing door drive coupling when the doors open and to lock it when they close.
