A guide unit for guiding a medical object such as a needle includes a locking unit, by which the guide unit may be disposed on the medical object. In order to enable a position of a medical object to be precisely determined, an aligning element that is in a fixed pose relative to the locking unit is provided. A contour that has a higher radiopacity than a remainder of the aligning element is disposed on the aligning element.

A model dataset is generated based on first image data. The model dataset and second image data map at least a common part of an examination region at a second detail level. The model dataset and the second image data are pre-aligned at a first detail level below the second detail level based on first features that are mapped at the first detail level in the model dataset and the second image data and/or an acquisition geometry of the second image data. The model dataset and the second image data are registered at the second detail level based on second features that are mapped at the second detail level in the model dataset and the second image data. The second class of features is mappable at the second detail level or above. The registered second image data and/or the registered model dataset is provided.

Providing result image data

According to a method for virtual enhancement of a camera image, a camera image depicting an object is generated. A geometric description of a virtual auxiliary object as a surface in space and a pose of the auxiliary object with respect to the object are specified, wherein the auxiliary object separates part of the object from the rest of the object. An enhanced image is generated based on a superimposition of the camera image with a representation of the auxiliary object depending on the geometric description and the pose of the auxiliary object by a computing unit and displayed on a display device. The enhanced image is generated and displayed in such a way that the auxiliary object has a spatially variable transparency.

An improved guide for a medical needle is disclosed herein. An aligning element for aligning a needle guide, which is equipped for longitudinally guiding a medical needle, includes a connecting element for arranging the aligning element on the needle guide, and a light-guiding element for a predetermined diffusion of light. The light-guiding element only generates a predetermined light pattern relative to the diffusion of light in a pose predetermined by the geometry of the apparatus. Such an aligning element may be used in a treatment arrangement for longitudinally guiding a needle and in a method for aligning a needle guide.

An imaging device and a method for generating a motion-compensated image or video are provided. The imaging device has a data acquisition facility for acquiring image data of a target object. The imaging device is configured to acquire, using a registration facility, a posture of an inertial measurement unit and, on the basis thereof, to carry out a registration between coordinate systems of the inertial measurement unit and the image data. The imaging device is further configured to acquire motion data from the inertial measurement unit arranged on the target object and, by processing the motion data, to generate the motion-compensated image or video.

A method for providing a prognosis data record includes receiving a first image data record relating to an examination region of an examination object, and receiving an operating parameter of a medical object that is arranged at the examination region of the examination object and positioning information of the medical object that is arranged at the examination region. The prognosis data record is created by applying a trained function to input data. The input data is based on the first image data record, the at least one operating parameter, and the positioning information of the medical object. At least one parameter of the trained function is based on a comparison with a first comparison image data record. As compared with the first image data record, the first comparison image data record includes changes influenced by the medical object at the examination region. The prognosis data record is provided.

A positioning unit for guiding a medical object such as a needle includes a securing unit by which the positioning unit may be arranged on the medical object. In order to enable an improved guidance for the medical object, an indicating element with a plurality of indicators is provided. The disclosure relates to a medical imaging device, a method for supporting medical personnel, a corresponding computer program product, and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium. In the method, a 3D data record is received from a first imaging modality and image data of an examination object is received from a second imaging modality. Different tissue regions of the same organ are imaged with different imaging properties at least under the second imaging modality. A tissue boundary is detected between the tissue regions in the image data. For registration of the image data with the 3D data record, the tissue boundary is aligned at a corresponding tissue boundary in the 3D data record. In addition, or alternatively, based on the tissue boundary, an automatic movement compensation takes place of a movement of the examination object which has occurred during the generation of the image data.

A camera image is acquired by a camera and a structure that is optically concealed in the camera image is acquired by a material-penetrating acquisition modality. A stereoscopic depth location of a common reference point is then fixed at a predetermined value. The stereoscopic representation is then generated from the camera image, and an overlay image is generated based on the concealed structure. In this case, a depth location of the camera image is fixed at the depth location of the reference point, and, as a function thereof, a depth location of the overlay image is adjusted in relation to the depth location of the reference point, such that in the stereoscopic representation, the overlay image appears realistically in front of and/or behind an optically opaque part in the recording direction of the camera image.
