Devices for launching objects have a bow structure including a first structural element having a handle and a pair of risers extending outwardly from the handle. A second structural element extends outwardly and away from the handle and has a support member positioned to rest against a forearm of a user. A pouch is movably attached to the bow and is configured to accommodate placement of a desired object to be launched therein. One or more elastomeric bands extend between the pouch and peripheral ends of the first and second risers and thereby attach the pouch to the bow and operate to provide an energizing force when stretched to launch an object within the pouch. In an example, the object to be launched is a water balloon that is at least about 50 percent disposed within the pouch when in a pre-launch state.

Launching device

A projectile for launching through the air comprises a body and one or more projecting members integral therewith extending outwardly a distance from the body, which can be hollow or solid. The projectile is formed from an elastomeric material capable of being stretched to energize the projectile for launching. The projecting members are positioned a distance apart from one another and include openings disposed therethrough at distal ends for engaging sections of a launching device. The launching device includes a handle with the sections extending outwardly therefrom to accommodate placement of the projectile openings thereagainst for retaining the projectile before and during launch. The projectile is launched from the device by pulling the body away from the launching device to energize the projectile, and then releasing the energized projectile, causing it to be propelled from the launching device into the air and towards a desired target.

Launchable projectiles and launchers for the same

Devices have a flexible housing with an inside chamber having a closed and open end. A first chemiluminescent fluid is disposed in a breakable container in the chamber, and a second chemiluminescent fluid is in the chamber. A tip assembly is attached to the housing and includes a nib movably disposed in the body, and a filter element may be positioned within the body to prevent passage of broken particles from the container to the nib tip. A resilient element is used to impose an outward biasing force on the nib. A porous material is disposed over an outer surface of the nib tip and securely held in place. The device is activated for use by bending the housing to break the container causing the first and second chemiluminescent fluids to mix and react, providing a chemiluminescent solution that flows to the tip assembly for dispensing onto a desired surface.
