Various implementations generally relate to systems and methods for utilizing TIS and TRP ratings of a mobile device to identify frequency layers to prefer or avoid. A network access node detects a first frequency layer being utilized by the mobile device and generates an output based on a comparison of a capability of the mobile device to a capability threshold of the first frequency layer. Based on the output, the network access node determines whether the capability of the mobile device satisfies the capability threshold of the first frequency layer. If the capability of the mobile device does not satisfy the capability threshold, the network access node causes the mobile device to stop using the first frequency layer for communicating on the telecommunications network.

Frequency layer management using OTA performance tests of a mobile device

Systems and method are provided for dynamic VoNR switching in NRCA scenarios. A user is conducting a VoNR call on a primary cell with the radio quality determined with respect to an operator defined threshold based on monitoring the radio quality of the call for a predetermined time duration. Voice quality may degrade, so radio quality is compared with at least one configured secondary cell using at least one operator defined radio condition. The radio condition may be a mean opinion score (MOS), or may be an RF signal quality measurement. The comparison between the primary cell and the secondary cell reveals if at least one of the configured secondary cells exceeds at least one operator defined radio condition. The UE may be dynamically instructed to transfer from the current serving primary cell to the at least one configured secondary cell that exceeds at least one operator defined radio condition.

Dynamic voice over new radio switching in new radio carrier aggregation scenarios

Aspects provided herein provide methods, systems, and a non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer instructions for dynamic slot reconfiguration for time division duplex nodes in a network. The method begins with monitoring a set of geospatial hex bins for a predetermined time for data utilization. At least one geospatial hex bin in the set of geospatial hex bins is identified as having a non-typical data utilization pattern. The non-typical data utilization pattern may be either a heavy uplink (UL) data pattern or a heavy downlink (DL) data pattern. The slot pattern used by the at least one geospatial hex bin in the set of geospatial hex bins with the non-typical data utilization patterns is dynamically reconfigured. The reconfiguring of the slot pattern may allocate at least one flexible slot to uplink or downlink symbols.

Dynamic reconfiguration of time division duplexing slot formats to optimize user experience in non-typical traffic scenarios

Aspects of the present disclosure a method for dynamic steering across non-standalone and standalone network architectures based on uplink throughput requirements is provided. The method begins with determining if at least one UE is active on an SA layer. A determination is then made whether the UE has only non-guaranteed bit rate data bearers with no voice and delay sensitive bearers. The uplink buffer threshold for the at least one UE is then compared with an operator defined uplink buffer threshold. Next, a comparison is made with an uplink throughput estimate on the SA and an uplink throughput estimate for the at least one UE on an NSA layer is made. If the NSA layer has a higher uplink throughput estimate than the SA layer, a dynamic handover is performed from the SA layer to the NSA layer.
