A dispensing device includes a container having a wall that defines an opening into an interior, a first layer of carrier disposed in the interior distal from the opening, and a second layer of carrier disposed between the first layer and the opening, wherein the first layer of carrier isolates the second layer of carrier from the opening. The first layer of carrier has a first characteristic of an active ingredient, and the second layer of carrier has a second characteristic of active ingredient, wherein the first characteristic is different from the second characteristic. A barrier is disposed between the first layer and the second layer to retard or prevent diffusion of the active ingredient of the second layer into the first layer.

A device adapted to discharge a volatile material includes a display frame having a front face and a rear face and an opening disposed in the rear face. The device further includes a dispenser disposed within the display frame. The dispenser includes a blister that holds a volatile material and a permeable membrane that extends across an open end of the blister. The rear face includes an integral foot member connected to an upper portion of the display frame at a hinge and the integral foot member is actuable between first and second states about the hinge. Further, the permeable membrane is disposed adjacent the rear face and regulates release of the volatile material therethrough.

A passive dispensing device for a liquid active material includes an upper housing portion for receiving a container for holding and dispensing a liquid active material, wherein the upper housing portion includes an interior cavity and wherein the container includes a wick extending from inside the container to an area outside the container. The device further includes a lower housing portion that extends downwardly from the upper housing portion, wherein the lower housing portion defines a recess between the upper and lower housing portions and includes first and second legs that extend downwardly from the upper housing portion and outwardly from the recess. The device has an operative position in which the first and second legs are disposed on a support surface, the container is retained in the recess with the wick extending upwardly into the interior cavity, and the container is spaced above the support surface and disposed between the first and second legs to allow convective air flow past the recess and the container through the device to dispense the active material from the upper housing.

A device that is adapted to discharge a volatile material includes a display frame with a front face and a rear face. An opening is disposed in the front face. A dispenser is disposed within the display frame. The dispenser comprises a blister holding a volatile material and a permeable membrane extends across an open end of the blister. The rear face includes an integral foot member actuable between first and second states. The permeable membrane is disposed adjacent the front face and prevents the release of the volatile material in a first condition and permits the release of the volatile material through the opening in a second condition.

An insect bait station is disclosed. The insect bait station includes: a reservoir for holding a liquid bait, the reservoir having a mouth and a closure for sealing the mouth such that the liquid bait is contained in the reservoir; a piercer for opening the closure of the reservoir such that a liquid wicking device positioned in the mouth of the reservoir may transport the liquid bait from the reservoir and through the mouth of the reservoir; and an activation member for moving the piercer into contact with the closure of the reservoir to open the closure, wherein the insect bait station also comprises an insecticide.
