Systems and methods are disclosed herein which facilitate generating and utilizing look-up tables for determining an AoA of a radar signal received from an emitter. In example embodiments, the systems and methods may involve a selectivity process for selecting, for each of a plurality of installation positions, an installation-representative antenna pattern as selected from an option set. Thus, the selectivity process may, for example, include indexing a plurality of data sets of antenna patterns associated with an antenna position and selecting a most representative data set from at least one of the indexed data sets. In some embodiments, the system and methods may further apply a compression algorithm which identifies changes in slope with respect to adjacent pairs of antenna positions (vertex pairs) in the look-up table. The algorithm may then discard any antenna position (any vertex) that does not meet a slope difference threshold with respect to changes in the slope.

Systems and methods for antenna analysis and validation

A high speed radio frequency signal interconnect device provides for signal communication within a system at cryogenic temperatures. The device includes a plurality of conductive traces provided on a first dielectric substrate where the ends of the traces have a predetermined shape. A second dielectric substrate covers the first dielectric substrate leaving the ends of the traces exposed. A connector is coupled to each respective end and includes pins coupled to a respective trace. Each connector is configured to define a respective isolating chamber about each of the first ends of the conductive traces where the pins are attached.

Wide-band high speed communications channel for cryogenic applications

Characterizing a radiation pattern of an antenna, accurately, is needed to improve the determination of an angle arrival of a radar signal received by the antenna. Accordingly, an optimized monotonic fitting approach with corresponding method and system are provided. The approach represents an approximation of the radiation pattern as a window map having a plurality of windows. The approach finds an optimized monotonic fit of the radiation pattern by adjusting the window map, one window at a time, and testing the resulting new approximations. The approach tests whether a new approximation is a better fit then the other approximations, is monotonic, and has a minimum slope. The approach enforces monotonicity and a minimum slope for ambiguity resolution. The approach further includes calculating an angle arrival of the radar signal based on the optimized monotonic fit.

An antenna array includes a plurality of antenna elements. The antenna elements include layers of dielectric material; an antenna inlaid in a top layer of the dielectric material so a surface of the antenna is substantially parallel to an outer surface of the top layer of dielectric material; and a conductive balun, coupled to the antenna, and embedded in one or more layers of the dielectric material. The antenna array is operative to receive signals from V to W frequency band transmissions generated by a heat source.

Imaging antenna and related techniques

The invention utilizes two nominally orthogonal probes to couple selectively to two orthogonal modes propagating in a microwave waveguide and horn. The waveguide and horn utilize internal ridges to obtain broad bandwidth and the two probes are located in substantially the same plane in order to avoid introducing large changes in the relative phases of the two modes propagating within the waveguide with changes in frequency over the operating bandwidth of the device. The middle portion of each probe is bent or deformed to the extent needed to avoid physical conflict and electrical contact between the probes, while still avoiding the introduction of substantial phases differences between the modes excited by the respective probes.
