Methods to recover over 95 percent of oil and gas from shale fracturing, oil sands, biomass, and hydrates and from deep water wells. Employing CO, HO, some proprietary chemicals, metals and proppants, raising the temperature of the mixture and using the mixture in shale fracturing, oil sands, biomass and gas hydrates to dislodge the gas and oil. Additionally, safety devices capable of pressure reduction at the reservoir in the production well bore upstream of a BOP are included. No water is used and no waste water is produced.

Method of gas and oil production from shale, oil sands and biomass using proppants and well safety options

This invention covers a process for dimerizing of isobutylene to Iso-octene and unique configuration is being disclosed, where the Feed is diluted to low level with recycle which has essentially no Iso-octene, dual catalyst system, new selectivator (IPA) and successive catalyst stages if needed to enhance the conversion. The process is very selective and provides higher isobutylene conversion. Additionally the invention also covers the hydrogenation of olefins to Paraffin, Iso-octene to Iso-octane product under moderate conditions and with dual or single catalyst system.

Isooctene/isooctane process

This invention covers a process for making biodiesel from vegetable oils and animal fat with a simple hetrogeneous catalyst providing high yield and reaction rates under moderate conditions. The process is designed so as to enhance the yield by pretreatment step of esterification if required. The process provides gravity separation and any pretreatment/distillation/stripping, if needed before sending Biodiesel and glycerine to storage. The process provides heterogeneous catalysts so as to reduce the waste from the system and also it reduces the utilities and chemical cost. The process is optimized, simple in operation, economical, providing best yields compared to any processes in the market.

Biodiesel process

A process for selective hydrogenation of C/C/C/C/Cand LCN, hydro-isomerization of olefins, benzene saturation and hydrodesulfurization of Gasoline, Kerosene and Diesel together with aromatic saturation of LCO is being provided so as to provide optimum technology at low cost with unique configuration. The technology is user friendly and uses conventional catalyst. These configurations cover both the options of installing the bulk catalyst in the distillation column with chimneys trays, hence essentially all the reaction takes place in the liquid phase in single or multiple beds or with fixed bed down flow or up flow reactor configuration. The configurations shown in the figures depicts that the fixed bed reactors are integrated with the Distillation Column and this art helps in lowering the Capital costs and the reactors are operating in single phase or two-phase conditions. The art is applicable to MAPD, vinyl acetylene, C, C, C, C, Cmixed hydrocarbon stream, and LCN diolefin selective hydrogenation. It includes the process for hydro-isomerization of Butene-2 to Butene-1, or visa versa, removal of Isobutylene and Isobutane by distillation after hydro isomerization, benzene hydrogenation to Cyclohexane, hydrodesulfurization of FCC gasoline, coker gasoline or any other Naphtha stream together with hydrodesulfurization of Diesel/Kerosene from any of the refinery units.

A process for producing ethers by reacting alcohols and olefins in successive catalytic stages is disclosed. The process includes alternating catalytic reaction stages and separation stages.

Multistage catalytic process for olefin etherification

A process for removing organic sulfur compounds from heavy boiling range naphtha in a dual purpose reactor wherein the heavy boiling range naphtha is fed downflow over a fixed bed of hydrodesulfurization zone and then treated with hydrogen in a hydrodesulfurization catalytic distillation zone. Vapor containing hydrogen sulfide is removed between the zones. Preferably the heavy boiling range naphtha is produced by treating a full boiling range naphtha to concurrently react diolefins and mercaptans and split the light and heavy boiling range naphtha in a distillation column reactor.

Process for ultra low sulfur gasoline

A process for the sulfuric acid catalyzed alkylation of C3-C5 olefins with isobutane is disclosed wherein the requisite mixing is accomplished by the use of eductors within the reactor. In addition the alkylate product is subjected to primary and secondary coalescers for removal of entrained sulfuric acid. The vaporized unreacted C4's are recovered as liquid by absorption and desorption in an absorber oil.

Sulfuric acid alkylation process

This invention covers a process for making Octene from nix CFeed by a low cost highly selective multistage process. The multi staging of reactors essentially provides lower cost than conventional processes. Two options are provided in FIGS.andas regards to configuration based on the same catalyst but as can be seen that FIG.configuration is low cost option with very high selectivity. The process provides conversion of butene to Octene &#x3e;95% and product purity &#x3e;96%. Product can be fractionated and can have a high purity Octene product by removing the trimers/polymers from the octene product. As mentioned due to the nature of the process configuration, one achieves high yield and selectivity with low cost.

Low cost selective octene process: RHT-octene

A process for the production of gasoline stocks wherein lower molecular weight olefins are first oligomerized and the oligomers then hydrogenated. In the first instance the oligomerization is carried out in a single pass fixed bed boiling point reactor. The oligomers are then hydrogenated in a distillation column reactor.

Process for the production of gasoline stocks

A process for oligomerization of C and C5 isoolefins or the etherification thereof with C to C alcohols wherein the reactants are contacted first in a partial liquid phase reactor (boiling point reactor) with a fixed bed acid cation exchange resin catalyst at an LHSV of 5 to 20, pressure of 0 to 400 psig and temperature of 120 to 300&deg; F., at a pressure to maintain the reaction mixture at its boiling point whereby at least a portion but less than all of the reaction mixture is vaporized and the entire reaction stream is directed to a catalytic distillation column reactor for further reaction of the reactants, where the improvement is having a decoupling drum between the boiling point reactor and the catalytic distillation column reactor. The addition of a decoupler drum allows the reactors to operate at a pressure independent of each other.

Method for conducting exothermic reactions

Disclosed is a reduced fat peanut butter product containing from about 30% to about 75% of a nut paste, from about 15% to about 45% of at least one water-soluble non-fat dry solid, from about 0% to about 10% added edible oil, from about 0% to about 30% of a water-insoluble non-fat dry solid and from about 0% to about 3% emulsifier. The reduced fat peanut butter is prepared by combining all the ingredients, then, intimately mixing the resulting combination by passing the combination through an extruder mixer. The mixture is then milled and homogenized under a pressure of from about 4,000 psig to about 14,000 psig.

The overheads from an etherification distillation column reactor containing unreacted alcohol and isoolefin are fed to a finishing reactor and then a portion of the effluent from the finishing reactor is returned to the distillation column reactor.

Etherification process

An apparatus for oligomerization of C.sub.4 and C.sub.5 isoolefins or the etherification thereof with C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alcohols wherein the reactants are contacted first in a partial liquid phase reactor (boiling point reactor) with a fixed bed acid cation exchange resin catalyst at an LHSV of 5 to 20, pressure of 0 to 400 psig and temperature of 120.degree. to 300.degree. F., at a pressure to maintain the reaction mixture at its boiling point whereby at least a portion but less than all of the reaction mixture is vaporized and the entire reaction stream is directed to a catalytic distillation column reactor for further reaction of the reactants, where the improvement is having a decoupling drum between the boiling point reactor and the catalytic distillation column reactor. The addition of a decoupler drum allows the reactors to operate at a pressure independent of each other.

Apparatus for conducting exothermic reactions

A process for reducing the oil binding capacity of a solid fibrous bulking agent is described in which a modified bulking agent is produced for use in making reduced calorie food products. The bulking agent is combined with an additive (e.g. sugar, protein or combination thereof) in water to form a mixture. The mixture is agitated to form a slurry thereby coating the bulking agent with the additive, and the slurry is dried. The resulting bulking agent has a reduced oil binding capacity so that the bulking agent may be used on food products containing natural oils or fats to reduce the calories per unit weight without adversely affecting the texture of the food product.
