An example centrifugal compressor includes a first stage and a second stage, a flow path within the centrifugal compressor between the first and second stages, an impeller, and a labyrinth seal. The labyrinth seal comprises a plurality of teeth, a lumen through a thickness of the labyrinth seal, and a lumen inlet disposed between adjacent teeth of the plurality of teeth.

Compressor and seal

The disclosed technology generally relates to a compressor housing that includes a main housing portion and an end housing portion. The main housing portion is configured to house a compressor motor and an inlet housing. The inlet housing is configured to receive vapor refrigerant downstream of the compressor motor. The main housing portion and the end housing portion are configured to interface at a mating surface of the respective housing portions and define a volume. The end housing portion includes a sensor cavity extending into the volume toward an opening of the inlet housing.

The disclosed technology generally relates to a compressor housing, comprising a first portion configured to house a compressor motor of a centrifugal compressor, a second portion configured to house an inlet housing of the centrifugal compressor, where the inlet housing is configured to receive refrigerant into an impeller assembly of the centrifugal compressor, and at least one refrigerant accumulator upstream of the second portion, the at least one refrigerant accumulator configured to accumulate liquid refrigerant.
