A non-antimicrobial cleansing composition is disclosed comprising from about 10.0 wt. % to less than about 40 wt. % of one or more C-Calcohols; about 0.5 wt. % to about 10.0 wt. % of at least one primary surfactant; 0 wt. % to about 10.0 wt. % of at least one secondary surfactant, with the primary and secondary surfactants having an HLB value greater than 8; a pH adjusting agent; and water. The composition does not achieve a microbial kill level greater than 2.0 log.

Alcohol containing non-antimicrobial cleansing composition

Hand sanitizers are provided with improved aesthetics and skin-conditioning effects, such that healthcare workers and others subject to high frequency hand hygiene requirements are encouraged to comply with said requirements. The hand sanitizers provide excellent antimicrobial efficacy and skin conditioning benefits that actually increase with increased frequency of use. The sanitizing compositions are hydroalcoholic, and contain a synergistic combination of skin-conditioning agents.

A topical sanitizing composition for restoring skin's natural balance of bacteria is provided. The topical sanitizing composition includes about 0.02 wt. % to 10.0 wt. % of an active ingredient, at least about 40 wt. % of one or more Calcohols; and water. The active ingredient comprises one or more of a probiotic, probiotic derivative, and a prebiotic.

Sanitizer composition with probiotic/prebiotic active ingredient

A sanitizing composition for restoring skin's natural balance of bacteria and/or increasing the production and/or activity of antimicrobial peptides is provided. The sanitizing composition includes about 0.005 wt. % to 15.0 wt. % of an active ingredient that is one or more of a probiotic, probiotic derivative, prebiotic, and a prebiotic derivative and at least one compound that delivers a sanitizing effect.

A method is provided for measuring the interaction of a disinfecting composition with a floor wax. The method include coating a surface with floor wax, allowing the coating to dry, applying a selected amount of disinfecting composition to the coated surface, and measuring, after a pre-determined amount of time, the tack of the surface, by using a controlled force measurement inverted probe machine. A detectable amount of tack indicates that the disinfecting composition has interacted with the floor wax. Alternatively, any tacky residue on the dried product surface may be sampled and analyzed by Fourier transform spectroscopy. Absorption at a wavelength associated with the floor wax indicates that the product has interacted with the floor wax. A foamable disinfecting composition having reduced interaction with floor wax is also provided.

Alcoholic compositions with improved properties and methods for evaluating interaction of the compositions with surfaces

A foamable composition includes greater than about 40 weight percent of an alcohol, based upon the total weight of the alcoholic composition, and a foaming surfactant selected from gemini surfactants, sulfuric acid esters, di-esters, Cfatty alcohols, polyquaternium polymers, and combinations thereof.
