A surgical instrument includes a first member defining an axis and a second member having at least one capture element. The at least one capture element being axially translatable relative to the first member such that the at least one capture element is outwardly radially movable relative to the axis and inwardly radially movable relative to the axis to capture a spinal plate. Systems, implants and methods are disclosed.

Surgical instrument and method

A dual-sided rod bender for contouring a rod is disclosed. The rod bender may include a first handle and a second handle pivotably coupled together and extending in a longitudinal direction, respectively, from a proximal end to a distal end. A first side of the rod bender may include a first roller adjacent the distal end, a second roller adjacent the distal end, and a third roller disposed between the first roller and the second roller. A second side of the rod bender may include a fourth roller adjacent the distal end, a fifth roller adjacent the distal end, and a sixth roller disposed between the fourth roller and the fifth roller. The first side may be configured apply a first mechanical advantage to bend a rod and the second side may be configured to apply a second mechanical advantage to bend a rod.

Dual-sided rod bender

A surgical instrument includes a member including a body engageable with a longitudinal element to fix the longitudinal element with the body. The member further includes a distal portion having a guide including an arcuate surface being engageable with the longitudinal element. An actuator is connected with the member to incrementally tension the longitudinal element. Surgical systems, implants, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.
