A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive assignment information for receiving a first codeword using a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) in a first set of resource blocks (RBs), and a second codeword using a second, different MCS in a second set of RBs. The first and second sets of RBs may be in a first time interval in a first bandwidth part using a first subcarrier spacing. The WTRU may receive, in symbols of the first time interval in the first bandwidth part, the first codeword using the first MCS in the first set of RBs and the second codeword using the second, different MCS in the second set of RBs. At least a portion of the first codeword and at least a portion of the second codeword may be received in at least a first symbol in the symbols in the first time interval.

Physical (PHY) layer solutions to support use of mixed numerologies in the same channel

A system, method, and device for ensuring a number of Phase Tracking Reference Signal(s) (PT-RSs) are the same for multiple slots. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive control information including a number of scheduled resource blocks (RBs) then determine a PT-RS density based on the number of scheduled RBs. The WTRU may determine a RB offset value for the WTRU based on a WTRU-ID modulo the maximum RB offset value, where the maximum value for the RB offset value may be based on at least one of the number of the scheduled RBs and the PT-RS density. The WTRU may then transmit or receive a signal with PT-RS based on the RB offset value.

Phase tracking reference signal transmission

Methods and apparatuses for multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) channel access are provided herein. A method performed by a station (STA) may include receiving, from an initiating STA, a frame including information indicating a broadcast address and a control trailer. The control trailer may include information indicating that a multi-user multiple input-multiple output (MU-MIMO) frame is to be received from the initiating STA, and information indicative of a plurality of STAs, the plurality of STAs including the STA. The method may include transmitting a response frame to the indicated broadcast address based on the received frame and receiving the MU-MIMO frame from the initiating STA.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for phase noise reference signal (PNRS) transmission, comprising receiving, at a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), scheduling information for a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmission, wherein the scheduling information includes an indication of a set of physical resource blocks (PRBs) and a modulation coding scheme (MCS) level, determining a density for the PNRS transmission based on at least one of: the MCS level, a frequency band for the PUSCH transmission, or a subcarrier spacing of the PUSCH transmission, and transmitting the PUSCH in the scheduled set of PRBs using the determined density of PNRS.

Reference signal design for wireless communication systems

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for physical (PHY) layer multiplexing of different types of traffic in 5G systems. A device may receive a communication. The communication may include a first traffic type. The device may monitor the communication for an indication that the communication includes a second traffic type that is multiplexed with and/or punctures the first traffic type. An indicator received in the communication and detected by the monitoring may indicate where the second traffic type is located in the communication. The first traffic type and the second traffic type may be multiplexed at a resource element (RE) level. For example, a first traffic type may be punctured by a second traffic type at the RE level. The device may decode one or more of the first or second traffic types in the communication based on the indication.

PHY layer multiplexing of different types of traffic in 5G systems

A method of multi-access point (multi-AP) communication performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprises: receiving a first trigger frame from a first access point (AP) of a plurality of APs, the first trigger frame comprising first information; receiving a second trigger frame from a second AP of the plurality of APs at a predetermined time duration after receiving the first trigger frame, the second trigger frame also comprising the first information of the first trigger frame; generating a synchronization frame based on the first trigger frame and the second trigger frame, the synchronization frame comprising synchronization information; transmitting the synchronization frame to at least the first AP and the second AP; and receiving a data transmission based on the synchronization information from each of the first AP and the second AP.

Methods and apparatus for joint multi-AP transmission in WLANS

Techniques, devices and systems are disclosed for generating a resource request poll comprising at least one response criteria, transmitting the resource request poll, receiving a resource request report from STAs that meet at least one response criteria. A trigger frame may be transmitted to the at least one STA based on the resource request report from the at least one STA. The response criteria may include at least one of a NFRP, a UL access type, a delay bound, an NDP feedback report AC, a number of indicated AID bits, an AID range, an information requested, a number of bits to be included in NDP feedback report or preamble, number of LTFs to be included in the NDP feedback report or preamble, and a number of bits to be included in NDP feedback report or preamble per LTF or per N LTF symbol.

Efficient uplink resource requests in WLAN systems

Methods for multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) transmission are provided herein. A method may include sensing, using at least one of a plurality of antenna chains, radio frequency (RF) energy on a channel in a first time duration and may indicate the channel is busy. RF energy may be sensed on the channel using the at least one of the plurality of antenna chains in a second time duration and may indicate the channel is not busy. A method may include sending energy level sensed during the second time duration, a frame using the at least one of the plurality of antenna chains. The frame may indicate timing information associated with a MIMO transmission. The MIMO transmission may be sent using the indicated timing information and the at least one of the plurality of antenna chains.

Methods and apparatus for MIMO transmission

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a downlink transmission and send a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission in each resource block (RB) of an interlace of a plurality of RBs in an active bandwidth part (BWP). A base sequence is mapped to the PUCCH transmission repetitively, once to each RB of the plurality of RBs of the interlace, using a different cyclic shift of the base sequence for each RB. Each different cyclic shift of the base sequence in the PUCCH transmission to each RB is a function of a RB index of the respective RB. The PUCCH transmission indicates either an acknowledgement (ACK) or a negative ACK (NACK) of the received downlink transmission.

Short physical uplink control channel (sPUCCH) structure

A method for transmitting a discrete fourier transform (DFT) DFT-S-OFDM signal including frequency domain reference symbols is disclosed. The method comprises: determining to null a plurality of data symbols prior to DFT-spreading; performing DFT-spreading including the determined null data symbols; puncturing an interleaved output of the DFT-spreading; inserting reference symbols in a frequency domain of the punctured and interleaved DFT-S-OFDM signal; and transmitting the DFT-S-OFDM signal with inserted reference symbols to a receiver. The transmitted DFT-S-OFDM signal enables the receiver to apply zeros corresponding to the reference symbols to an interleaved input of DFT-despreading, and cancel interference due to the puncturing by using all outputs of the DFT-despreading.

Methods for flexible reference signal transmission with single carrier frequency domain multiple access (SC-FDMA) and OFDMA

An AP/PCP may perform user selection/pairing/grouping based on a measurement of an analog transmission (e.g., signal to noise ratio (SNR) or signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR)). The SNRs may be used, for example by the station, to determine best beams and/or beam pairs and/or worst beams and/or beam pairs. A station may feed back the best few beams and/or beam pairs for a Tx and Rx virtual antenna pair. A station may feed back the worst few beams for the Tx and Rx virtual antenna pair. The AP/PCP may receive the indication(s) and/or use the indication(s) to group the stations.

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) setup in millimeter wave (MMW) WLAN systems

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for multiple AP coordination in wireless local area networks (WLANs). For example, a station (STA) may receive, from a first access points (APs), a probe response frame that includes one or more indicators indicating multiple AP operation capabilities of the first AP and a second AP. The STA may transmit, to at least one of the first AP or the second AP, a multiple AP association request frame that enables the first AP to be associated with the second AP for a multiple AP operation. The STA may receive, from the first AP, a first multiple AP association response frame indicating acceptance or rejection of the multiple AP operation with the first AP. The STA may receive, from the second AP, a second multiple AP association response frame indicating acceptance or rejection of the multiple AP operation with the second AP.

Systems, methods and apparatuses for multiple access point (multi-AP) coordination in wireless local area networks (WLANs)

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for HARQ signaling and communications in wireless networks. For example, a method implemented in a STA comprises receiving a first MU transmission including a first set of HARQ bits, a first set of user data for STAs including the STA, a preamble including information indicating that the MU transmission includes the first set of HARQ bits, and a first set of HARQ Process IDs associated with the first set of HARQ bits; determining a subset of HARQ bits of the first set of HARQ bits; transmitting a response message indicating a reception status of the subset of HARQ bits; and receiving a second MU transmission including a second set of HARQ bits, a second set of user data for the plurality of STAs, and a second set of HARQ Process IDs associated with the second set of HARQ bits.

Included among these classes are methods for use in connection with dynamic precoding resource block group (PRG) configuration and with codebook based transmission configuration. A representative of such methods may include any of receiving signaling indicating transmit precoding information; determining a candidate PRG size using any of the transmit precoding information, a rule for determining a PRG size and configured PRG sizes; and configuring or reconfiguring a wireless transmit/receive device in accordance with the candidate PRG size.
